I don't believe in a supernatural being. That's why Eastern religion appeals to me.

Buddhism believes that everyone can achieve enlightment and Buddha will give you the tools to show you the way. Buddhism also teaches compassion towards not only humans but animals and insects as well (many of them are vegitarian). They believe in helping others as well as helping yourself achieve peace. They are different than Western religions because they don't believe in a creator or a "god". They don't claim that Buddha was a god. Their beliefs also teaches its members to question and think for themselves. They also believe that the creation of earth is the scientific "big bang" theory and are believers in the process of evolution. They are one of the religions that is closely aligned to scientific evidence of this world.
