If you were God, what would you do?

I think God is doing a terrible job. It is time for a recall and new elections.

For example, if I were God, I wouldn't so much about what people believe as much as what they do. I wouldn't be offended if they don't toe some dogmatic line as long as they were good to each other. And I certainly wouldn't have commanded Joshua to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Also, babies would never be burned to death. Children would never get raped or beaten. There would be no tooth decay and chocolate would be good for you. I would get rid of the appendix (it does nothing except endanger your life.)

If there was a war, only soldiers would get hurt and the generals and politicians would have to stand in front.

And the greatest sin would be people think that they had a personal line to me giving them the right to condemn other people, to kill them and to wipe out cultures in my name.

What would you do?

If a baby dies a horrible, firey death in an earthquake, how is that the fault of man. Would a loving God allow that to happen? Even where the fault is man's why should he allow that happen (children who step on land mines, women who get raped)?

If you saw your children fighting, and one poked the other in the eye, would you say, "Oh, that's just kids hurting kids. It isn't my fault so I'll just ignore it. I'll wait a year and then punish the guilty one and reward the good one." If you did, you would be a bad parent, as is the Judeo-Christian God.

Yes, SOME of these problems are man made, but that doesn't make the victims any less innocent or their suffering anymore bearable. To simply say, "Well, my invisible God has a plan and I'll trust him." avoids the issue.

I'm not saying that a just god must get rid of all pain and suffering. But to let the innocent suffer is foolish. When a child gets molested by her father, is that tough love? Should the mother say, "It's tough love? You have to have bad in order to differentiate it from good. I'll just ignore it."

I have no problem with bad things in the universe. But in an ideal world, bad would be something that people bring on themselves.

If seeing children loose their arms from land mines and babies burn to death is God's way of making me appreciate the "good", then let me have no part of it. I think that that is a rather heartless view of the world.

Honestly I am glad that we have the God that we have. I mean really, if anyone else were God, people would have no free will or anything like that. Honestly if I were god I would have gotten frustrated long ago and killed everyone and everything. I am not even sure that I would try again or give anyone a chance. Too much sorrow. But then I am being painfully honest. God cannot be an entirely selfish being else the universe would be a completely different place. Once you take away free will you end up with a world pre-fall and everyone still lives in the garden, then nothing needs to be fixed.

If I was God, I'd send a comet the size of the Moon at the speed of light to Earth and wipe out this failed experiment. I'd start humankind over in another solar system, on a pristine planet, and give all the good souls that were on the Earth I destroyed new bodies and a beautiful new home. As for the wicked, I'd put their souls in the bodies of microscopic bacteria and give them life on another planet just becoming habitable, and the chance to work their way up over millenia to evolve and be decent people.

You have to have suffering to learn compassion. It is all a learning experience, which continues on after your soul leaves your body. Through faith will come your answers, with peace as the test of validity.

I have never thought about what I would do. I think God is doing a great job. He knows what He is doing. He doesn't make any mistakes He doesn't dictate to people how they are to live. He leaves them alone to make their own choices. It is mankind that is at fault, not God. It is not His fault that people ignore Him and go their own way. He is doing all He can do to get people to come to Him under His terms and still remain a holy, righteous forgiving God. Have you come to God under His terms? Here they are.
Jesus Christ Is the Only Way To Heaven!

In The Holy Bible, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. He meant “I am the only way to God the Father and to heaven”, “I am the only truth that you need to know.” and “I am the only spiritual life available to mankind.” In other words, “I am the only true and living God.”
All other so-called gods are false gods. They are not real. They do not exist. No other so-called god has the power to forgive, cleanse and remove all your sins from you to get you to heaven. They don't even claim to.
I pray you will believe this and accept the fact that you are a sinner needing to be saved from your sins (“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23, The Holy Bible.) and accept the fact that the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary is the only way you can have your sins forgiven, cleansed and removed and is the only way you can get to heaven. I pray you will acknowledge that you are a sinner and ask Jesus Christ to forgive, cleanse and remove all you sins and accept Him into your heart/life to live for Him the rest of your life. (“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12, in the Holy Bible.) That is what it means to be born again. (“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 in The Holy Bible.) Salvation is a free gift. You cannot work for it. You cannot be good enough to earn it. You must, by faith, receive it as a free gift. (“8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”) Ephesians 2:8-9.
God loves you and it is not His will that you perish in hell.
