Faith doesn't cure anything. God does. Actually my dad had cancer and was told he had 6 months to live. (8 years ago) He ended up completely cancer free. He never had one dose of chemo or radiation. God heals who He chooses to. Even when things seem unfair there is always a bigger picture to look at. I've found good things can come out alot of bad situations.

There are many many people who have been healed from cancer and other fatal diseases by God. Almost every Christian church has at least one. Now God isn't going to heal EVERY disease, if He did, no one would go to Him in faith. Faith doesn't exist in a sure thing, there has to be the possibility it wont happen for faith to even come into the picture. The sun rose today and will tomorrow so no faith is involved.

I am not sure if you are asking about cancer/diseases as a whole or in individual cases.
As a whole, if everybody lived forever, it kind of negates eternity.
Individually, faith can and has healed.
I have seen some people prayed for and healed (know them personally) and yet the person next to them was prayed for and not healed. I can not explain why this happens.
I do know that sometimes we deal with something like this because it will bring focus into our lives. Suddenly, everything becomes prioritized and we get our lives in order.
Then there are other times that our problems (and our reaction to them) can build faith in others (read the book of Job).

Faith can cure cancer and other ailments. Wayne Dyer's The Power of Intention is a good place to start. There is a chapter on healing. It's not just about having faith, its about understanding how faith works.

Thanks to the drug companies running the US, we will never know the cure for cancer or AIDS--they make too much money from manufacturing drugs to alleviate the symptoms.
Did you know that a friend in China tried to mail over some Red Ginseng and was told at the post office that "You cannot mail 'medicine' to the US--you can mail it to any other country though".
Hmmm...since when did the FDA decide that ginseng was a "medicine"??
Sorry for the rant. In answer to your question: Sympathetic magick may help, and herbal or homeopathic cures may be the answer--but just straight praying?--probably not.

God inspired doctors to be able to cure and treat some many things. The bible says that faith without works is dead so why not seek medical treatment and pray.

you know alot of ppl wonder that, just as I do, Sometimes he does heal and other times he doesn't,we don't know why,but someday we will.I don't have cancer but I do have some problems that I don't know why God doesn't heal, but I know he hasn't left me. He might not cure us,but he is still with us no matter what. I mean sometimes ppl will leave other ppl when the going gets tough, but God will never leave us.I hope this answer isn't to confusing.

I think sometimes it does. I always look at my life as a long straight line, like a road. I can only see right where I am, but God who is up high and who knows my beginning and end can see the whole road. He knows where I'm at, and what's ahead. It may be sad for my relatives, or too soon in their eyes, but He knows exactly what He is doing and we must trust Him. We can't see the whole picture, only where we are right now. Our death is precious in His sight, there is always a reason.

You could fill a library with the things faith doesn't do. Why would you expect it to cure cancer?

It doesn't seem to cure anything. Nor does prayer which has failed in rather large controlled studies of praying for the sick. I was at dinner with an evangelist friend last night. We agreed that if "the prayer of a righteous man availeth much" then the 99.9% prayed by unrighteous men don't avail much. There's always a catch.
