It's not. Knowledge is much more important than faith. Faith is the easy way out for people thats too lazy to look for the answers so they just believe whatever other people tell them to believe.

Because by faith, my best friend was raised from the dead.
By faith, many people I know have been healed.
By faith, I received the Holy Spirit.
By faith, God has given me knowledge.
By faith, many prayers were answered.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
And, for everyone else's information, I am not afraid to find the truth, it's just simply that, the truth is in the Bible and everyone else hides behind human-created lies and "explanations". You're all so afraid of finding something contrary to what you are used to that you lash out against Christianity because it convicts you.
If you honestly search with an open heart and mind, you will find the Truth and the Truth will set you free.

It is convention that leads people to say faith because they want to generalize religion. Many Christians consider Christianity a life style and not a religion, it is a way of living, it doesn't actually change anyone from doing something "religiously". The change comes from "knowing" (=proof) what God has done and accepting what he has said. The problem stems from people looking for argumentative reasons to disregard their Christian responsibilities (outlined in Romans 13-14, among others) and lead a lifestyle that is built around serving ones self.
Other religions are simply aimed at pulling people away from God.

My faith comes from knowledge. I began my true belief in the Lord after feeling His presence in church and in times of need. It is a presence that cannot be explained to someone who hasn't experienced it. I was filled with the Holy Spirit and that Spirit helps me know the truth - the Word of God. My knowledge and understanding of the Bible came after I experienced the Lord's presence. The Lord also asks us to accept and have faith in Him without ever seeing Him on this earth. We are rewarded for that faith with eternal life.

Faith is only more important than knowledge if you chose to remain ignorant. I have never met a crristian who can tell me more about their religion than a box of rocks knows. Knowledge is the enemy of faith, the more you seek the truths of our ancient past the more modern religions look less and less "right."
If somebody is so confident that their religion is right and their god is the true one, then why are they afraid to do research into real history? There is no religion on earth that can stand up as fact, and ignorant faith can stand up to anything. Knowledge is the power to dispell lies and myths, while looking for real truth. Anyone who declines to attempt to gain knowldge of the past is in fear of the truths that would shatter their blind (meaning ignorant) faith.

God gives faith to those who seek Him. By the Holy Spirit, when we search for the truth, He allows us to have faith to believe and reveals the truth. God is a spirit and those who will worship Him must do so in spirit and truth.
God has already given us all the proof in front of our eyes to believe.Example of this is all of creation including man. God said because of this no one would be without excuse. Jesus told the disciples you are blessed because you have seen me but more blessed are those who believe and have not seen.

Make an eyeball from scratch. Make a thinking human being. Make a sunset. There is no design without a designer. One of the smartest human beings on earth said, "God doesn't play craps with the universe." --Albert Einstein
I think i'll take his word for it.
Albert had faith in his theory of relativity. Then he proved it. Knowledge is power, but faith is the stuff of dreams.

It's not really. it's more a matter of preference and whether you have a fear of the unknown.
Fear works in favor to faith
Scientist believe in knowledge over faith
