I have some family and friends who are like that, and they're so "wholesome", healthy, intelligent, friendly, energetic, positive -- you name it -- and at peace with themselves. They told me that they believe only in themselves, and they're very accomplished people. It seems to me that they're blessed and loved by God because they're doing so well in everything and have a wonderful life. And yet they have no religious inclination at all. How do you explain it?

Possible explanations:

A. There is really no God, and only the "losers" (pardon me, you know I don't mean that -- and I'm one of them anyway ^_^ ) and people who need something would want to believe in God.

B. They're actually blessed and favored by God without knowing even though they don't believe in God. But isn't that strange? If they don't believe in God, how is it possible that they seem to be filled with God-like qualities (e.g. the "wholesome-ness")?

C. ???

What do you think?

(Please, no rude comments!)

Earlier this year on Good Friday, a man entered Mar Girgis Church in Alexandria, Egypt, and stabbed one worshipper to death and wounded two others. He then went to another church and stabbed three other Christians.

The events in Alexandria were a reminder of the, at best, tenuous status of Christians in the Islamic world.

The Egyptian government immediately dismissed the possibility that animus toward Christians played a role in the attacks. Egypt's Interior Ministry said that the attacker suffered from "psychological disturbances." How convenient.

Egyptian Christians, known as Copts, did not buy it, and for good reason: Police officials had a different version, announcing that "three men had been arrested in four simultaneous church assaults." According to the police, these assaults had killed one and injured another seventeen.

That sure sounds like a coordinated attack to me. The rest of the article is at www.breakpoint.org.

I have read alot of answers from alot of questions
Yes some asked from myself and some from others
Why is it that you only do for your self and live your life for your self?

Why is it that some "notice I said some" are only self centered in their thinking and not thinking of others..........

.........=)

This seems like a HUGE thing to conspire and make work.. It seems too huge to be anything but true. I mean Mary says she's having the son of God, and that she's a virgin... Granted there may not be proof that she was a virgin, but she said she was, and her son was born. Coincidentally, her son is someone who performs hundreds of miracles... So, let's say she wasn't a virgin, and she lied about that, and she used God as an excuse for cheating on her husband... Or let's say this was a conspiracy and her husband was in on this... How can Jesus coincidentally perform all these miracles of God? I mean... She said she was a virgin, and her son is the son of God and he would perform miracles of God, and he DID that! Wasn't the New Testament written by Jesus' apostles? During his lifetime? How could someone plan such a conspiracy? We all know how hard it is to raise a child. And this woman raised him to be a prophet so that no one would question she wasn't a pregnant virgin!? How???!!!!!!!

JOS 10:12 On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD in the presence of Israel:
"O sun, stand still over Gibeon,
O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon."
JOS 10:13 So the sun stood still,
and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on its enemies,
Such an event must have had an impact globally. Is there any evidence(outside the bible account) from that point in time that suggest the sun stood still in the sky for some time. I will also accept any evidence in the world of an extra long night.
thankyou

Think about this before you answer. Imagine doing one good thing that could help the world.

When you think of it, and it must only be something good, not bad. See what you can do to make it happen.

Good luck

What was their ethnic origin? If they were White, then how did the other ethnics originate? If they were Black, then where did the rest of us come from? Whites, Asians, Orientals, Latinos etc.

There are two religious concepts; ‘the creator’ and ‘the self creator’.

To some people the concept of ‘the creator’ is very powerful in inspiring development of self discipline becoming a good person with a sense of love and forgiveness and devotion to the ultimate creator or God.

This group includes Christians, Muslims, etc..

The other concept is ‘self creation’. If one wants to be good then it is ones own responsibility to be so. Without ones own efforts one cannot expect something good to come about. Ones future is entirely dependant on oneself. It is self created.

This group includes Buddhists, 'atheists', etc..

Proof that they both work is that both groups have created incredible people.

Obviously they have different approaches, but do you think they have the same goal?
