please not Josephus. I read alot about that passage and tend to agree with the scholars in that its an unfortunate later catholic church addition.

The real evidence are his apostles. It's impossible to imagine a group of such dedicated people coming out of nowhere.
Josephus's 'historical' account is a lie. Just read it an you can tell.

I haven't ever heard of any evidence of anything biblical prior to around 100 years after the birth of Christ, but I could be wrong. Maybe it does exist. But I doubt there was a man born of a virgin. Any possible evidence has most likely been interpreted different ways.

Hello
Im sorry to hear that you gave up your faith
on Jesus, but to answer your question, Jesus did exist
and there are a lot of writers and historians
outside the bible that have mentioned him in
their writings.
the most famous one can be found in:
"Testimonium Flavianum" from “Jewish
Antiquities” by Flavius Josephus,
(A.D. 37-100)
There is also the Letter of Mara
Barsarapion, (73 A.D.),
a Syrian who lived in the first century A.D.
and of course the writings of:
Tacitus
Thallus
Phlegon
Suetonius
Hierocles
Julian the Apostate
Pliny
Lucian
and references from the
the Babylonian Talmud, to name a few...
There is actually no question about a man
named Jesus having existed... sorry to disappoint non-believers of the historical Jesus.

Several writings of Josephus do mention Jesus, and that's really the only non-biblical source to explicitly mention Jesus.

I can't cite an example of that time... but just after that period was the secular historian Josephus who wrote a bit about Jesus and the growth of the Christians in the early days.

Yes, Jesus Christ did walk this earth
The way historians tell whether something in history is authentic or not is by the eyewitness accounts. In Jesus' case, there is not one piece of evidence refuting the life, teachings, dead and resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, historians except that as fact.
Just like the life of say. . . . George Washington. We weren't around when he lived so how can we be so sure that he lived? Well, all of the eyewitnesses of the time tell us and none refute it. We except it and it's historical fact, just like Jesus!

He did really live. How do we know? We do not really need any evidence, biblical or non biblical. FAITH is what really matters. True, devout Christians do not see to believe, they believe in order to see.
