This seems like a HUGE thing to conspire and make work.. It seems too huge to be anything but true. I mean Mary says she's having the son of God, and that she's a virgin... Granted there may not be proof that she was a virgin, but she said she was, and her son was born. Coincidentally, her son is someone who performs hundreds of miracles... So, let's say she wasn't a virgin, and she lied about that, and she used God as an excuse for cheating on her husband... Or let's say this was a conspiracy and her husband was in on this... How can Jesus coincidentally perform all these miracles of God? I mean... She said she was a virgin, and her son is the son of God and he would perform miracles of God, and he DID that! Wasn't the New Testament written by Jesus' apostles? During his lifetime? How could someone plan such a conspiracy? We all know how hard it is to raise a child. And this woman raised him to be a prophet so that no one would question she wasn't a pregnant virgin!? How???!!!!!!!

The Rock, you're right, I sped read and missed the part where an angel actually talked to Joseph and told him that she was having the son of the Holy Spirit. So, before the two were married, she was already pregnant, and the angel told him not to worry about that, and marry her, 'cause she's pregnant with the one he'll name Jesus. So she didn't lie to Joseph. But they could still be on it together... Was there something else? 'Cause it doesn't say in here if it was written during or after Jesus. Smart guy.

Adrian, who was this guy? What was his name? What country was this in? When was he in the news? What month specifically? And even, what day?

The New Testament was not written by the apostles during the lifetime of Jesus. The earliest bits are estimated to have been written something like 40 years after his death.
That said, I would pay top dollar to read Mary's diary.

I am a beleiver, so dont ridicule me. it says inthree of the first four books of the new testament and many of the books in the old testament that the Son of the living God was born of a virgin. with God all things are possible. mary, who was thirteen, met with an angel who told her that she would give birth to the prophecied christ. soon after, God touched her and in her woumb was concieved the Son of God. the four gospels, which told the life of Christ, were written a few years after christ ascended into heaven. they were written by three eye wittnesses and one man who never met Christ. the greatest of all miraculous sighns is the raising of the dead. that is something that i had never heard of other than in the bible until last year. the story that i am about to tell you was even covered on the news of that particular country. I'm not sure if you have heard of him, but there is a pastor named Benny Hinn who does many "crusades" as he calls them. he was in on part of africa, i think, just before a mans funeral. the body was in the basement of the church and the Holy Ghost was so strong in that place, the guy rose from the dead. he was three days dea, the autopsy was finished two days befor, the embalming fluids were all throughout his veins, and he started breathing. his wife and family were there in the basement with the body. the guy started breathing, stood up and told his family that he had been in heaven and told them what it looked like. a few hours later, blood samples were taken, and there was not any trace of the embalming fluid, just blood. the doctors are stil stumped to this day. the guy has his own death certificate.

gads, are you confused! I will not go into the meat of your question because it is too complicated and would take twenty pages to explain, however, the gospels were not written when Jesus was alive. He had been dead for at least fifty years for Mark to have written his commentary and the others followed in intervals of many years until John which was written over 100 years after Jesus died.

Perhaps she didn't claim he was the son of God. It's more likely that he was proclaimed the Messiah later in life, and the story of Mary was added then.

not really a conspiracy, imho. History, and who cares. The virginity thing is a part of the story, simply decorum.

You assume the Bible gives an accurate account of a historical figure. I'm pretty sure that's the problem.

It is true. How do we know? We do not really need any evidence, biblical or non biblical, from Christian or non Christian. FAITH is what really matters. True, devout Christians do not see to believe, they believe in order to see.
