WEll, why is it that so many people are being baptizd in the name of the father, son, and holy spirit? Peter, which was one of Jesus' diciples, said to be "baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins "(acts 2:38). The name of the father, son, holy ghost are titles. Titles have no power, but there is power in the name of JESUS. Jesus was talking about himself. He is all of those TITLES. So instead of having the names of titles called over you while being baptized, we should have the name that has the power to change us and make us a new creature called over us. Then of course recieve the gift of the holy ghost.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

I heard that early Christians believed that earth was the center of the univers, but during (1195, and 1231) St Anthony of Padua said this. " Jesus' place should be in the center of every heart. From this center, as if from a sun, emanate rays of grace to each of us." St Anothony used the sun as an medifore to explan how we should plce Jesus in the center of our hearts kind of like the sun is the center of light upon every thing. You can say that he knew that the sun was the center of the universe or solar system. What do you think about this?

A Pastor I Know is constantly streching the truth, or even outright fibbing! How can a man of God, who is supose to guide others to the truth consistantly tell lies. Is it just me or is there someting wrong with this picture? I was raised to respect any religous leader, but how can I respect a liar!?

Think of how real you are. Though you are a small part of total existence, total existence would not be the same without you. There is a reason you are here. You have free will and the ability to reason and this makes you a complete individual. You can not act in the past or the future. The only time that you can make a difference in your essence is now, during this lifetime. What you do during this lifetime is only a small part of your total existence, but it is a major influence on all of your other existences. and it indicates whether you are progressing or regressing. Cruelty or selfish motivations whithout concern for the rest of existence indicate regression. Love, compassion, and patience indicate that an individual has and is progressing in a desirable manner. Can you really believe that you exist only for this short time that we call a lifetime?

Life has gone from an all time high to an all time low these days for me and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but an excuse always comes up for me to postpone my committment to Christ. I used to be a big Christian when I was in my elementary school days and since middle school/HS/college Ive lived for Sin, the adjustment is tough, please pray for me, the only thing that keeps me from staying alive is knowign that God is real

So, to reiterate the major question at hand-is this an open forum to continue the religious hatred that is prevalent all around us?
Can we at least agree that negativity of any sort isn't helping to make this the forum it should be?

If angels exist I assume they have freewill. If some of these angels indeed fell from God's side because of their ungodly desires then would it seem logical that they also could regain God's favor. And if this is the case others that remained in God's good grace could have fallen later on.

Maybe spiritual falls and ascensions are like the waves of the shore. The come in, they go out, but eventually they always return to the sea. By this logic it seems that if some entities did indeed become evil, and assuming one of them is the ringleader, it only seems plausible that the leader from time to time would be usurped, or better yet have a change of heart.

wonderful as God's creation of the human body is, it is greatly surpassed by the marvels of God's re-creation of a man or women who before was spiritually dead and utterly incapable of doing anything that could possibly satisfy God, but who now as the result of God's working, is able to be good and to do TRULY good " good works." --------------- Eph. 2:8-10 " For it by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, WHICH GOD prepared in advance for us to do. ----------------- curious to what your answers are.

ok, so maybe you people thought my last question was a little harsh, and in which I will be back peddling for saying it in a harsh way, but not for what I said. You cna be entitled to your own opinion, I know that, but she was trying to State a FACT, which just simply wasn't true. You people can say the bible isn't real, and that you can disprove it, well then I feel sorry for you, and I'll pray for you. God loves you all. So my question.... is Where is the line where opinion meets fact? I mean honestly people, I wan't dissing the girl, she could be the sweetest girl in the world, and the only thing I'm talking about is what she had to say. And for all of you who think that I have more important things to concentrate, STOP being such hypocrates..... everyone has problems right? And we ALL post them online, and well all answer other people's problems, so don't accuse me for doing something wrong when you all do it as well. Love, PEACE, kindess. God Bless.

I am fairly new to Yahoo Q&A and this is a whole new world for me....I didn't even know this kind of bantering went on between believers and non-believers until I accidentally accessed it while I was checking my email.

I am technically not on either side because, although I believe in Christ, I don't call myself a Christian; I truly believe that God wanted me out of the pollution of the church.

I admire qualities of both the non-believers and the believers....I am impressed with the knowledge, articulation, and open-mindedness of the non-believers, and I love the child-like hearts of a believer, who can believe that there is something bigger than themselves.

I notice that a lot of jousting is made toward the Christian, and I seriously don't believe that it is intended to strike the child-like heart of the person.

What I would like to ask Christians is, do you think that some of this could be writing on the wall, so to speak, to help you to see that maybe things aren't quite right?

Why is it when we see quistions from the opposite faith or beliefs we jump in and give an answer just to aggrivate the asker? There is no point in being mean and spiteful. Isnt there a better way to go about it? Why must we quistion each and every faith? The truth is if you were strong and true to your own faith you wouldnt be asking about others to start with? RIGHT?

It's been a long time now since the first 'car' been invented in Britain, so that people could move or go easily, and transporting almost all neccesity to continue on of this Life, but how this transportation could've impact to the Religions, whatever that would be, Say I'd like to go to Afrika learing or just seeing what they have been doing, in such a manner that would be openly seen by others, could that caused anything bad ? Knowing that the Car,or transportation means I'd like to get on is,say Japanese made or French, which aren't Muslim or Catholics, could be harmfull ?

I mean really. Your 'proof' is based on 'information' from right wing think tanks, and is contradicted by every respected scientist on the planet. Evolution actually happens, please read a book on the subject, I'd recommend 'climbing mount improbable', or the 'selfish gene', (because, admittedly the origin of species is a little dry).
You come up with these elaborate metaphors to prove your point. But here's the thing. If any of you actually, I mean really understood the theory of evolution (and yes it is a theory, but unlike creationism it has the backing of a hell of allot of actual facts) you wouldn't be able to reject it so easily.
The theory of evolution is one of the most exquisitely crafted theories ever. Period. It draws on the fossil record, geography, genetics, almost every aspect of biology, as well as statistics, and years of carefully documented research and insight by some of the greatest minds ever.

I'm just wondering: Do you have a reason?
