I mean really. Your 'proof' is based on 'information' from right wing think tanks, and is contradicted by every respected scientist on the planet. Evolution actually happens, please read a book on the subject, I'd recommend 'climbing mount improbable', or the 'selfish gene', (because, admittedly the origin of species is a little dry).
You come up with these elaborate metaphors to prove your point. But here's the thing. If any of you actually, I mean really understood the theory of evolution (and yes it is a theory, but unlike creationism it has the backing of a hell of allot of actual facts) you wouldn't be able to reject it so easily.
The theory of evolution is one of the most exquisitely crafted theories ever. Period. It draws on the fossil record, geography, genetics, almost every aspect of biology, as well as statistics, and years of carefully documented research and insight by some of the greatest minds ever.
I'm just wondering: Do you have a reason?

p.s. I'll read any part of the bible you want. In exchange for you actually reading a book, detailing evolution.

Why am I doing this?
I know it may seem like too much to ask but what I'm doing here is called compromising. I'm agreeing to educate myself on your side of the issue, in exchange for you agreeing to educate yourself on my side of the issue.
I'm hoping we can elevate the debate.
And seriously, guy who posted the car metaphor, please read my question, and a book.

Evolutionist,
I am so sorry you keep on insisting your side to people who does not want to argue with you. I would suggest that you leave their belief to themselves. They believe what they believe because of the faith they have; not because of the proof you expect them to have. You may be irritated with them because they only have the feeling and experience within themselves that is not tangible for you.
Just be glad you know better. In that aspect, allow them be happy for the little things you think they only have. You even insult them for asking god why he make them less smart. Do you honestly think you are smarter because you have scientific proof and thus gave you already the right to insult them?
I do not know if respect to others right to believe is within the bounds of scientific understanding. BTW, if this creationist also have done somehow in the past that made you write this kind of question, I honestly would like to ask for your pardon and understanding on their behalf. At least even if we are not that smart we know how to say sorry.

Why do all evolutionist have to go after creationist's neck. I took a class in the spring at Hopkins on evolution. I see no correlation between the two. I saw interspecies evolution and nothing else. Where are the missing links that connect all? There are too many gaps. When a group of animals are left to their own over time to survive they must evolve. Doesn't mean everything on earth came from the same single cell.
Explain to me how it is that the Earth is the only planet with this strange ability to have life (as we know it). Don't go alien on me - no rational thinking person will accept such.
I personally won't take a chance with my soul. what if i die and find out that there actually is heaven and hell and i was not prepared? What if you die and find out there is nothing but nothing but while you were alive you decided to believe in Jesus and the Bible's teaching? who did that hurt to believe and find nothing? It won't - it can't
BUT if you do pass from this body into the spiritual and you did not give GOD a chance and there He stands - but you rejected Him when you were alive - now you will spend eternety in HELL.
I won't take the chance. Plus it feels good to be a simple creature that knows her limits. I am not all knowing; no human is. Just some do think the do.
I hope you come to see the truth. I hope to meet you in heaven. May you be blessed and come to know Jesus as your personal salvation from damnation.

I see that you made strides since last night in not flaming all Christians for being stupid. It's nice to witness your progress in that arena.
Creationism and evolution can coexist peacefully, y'know. While they don't for all people--and many people get their panties in a bunch about it--it's really not a big deal. God made the world, and it is possible that he made it in such a way that on this planet different forms of life developed over a span of time. As I'm sure people have mentioned to you, "seven days" could be anything to God, since God is outside of time.
Anyway, you're not talking to me, so I'll bow out of the question. Just wanted to let you know that I noticed your revisions to your attitude, which I think is nice.
Did you know that Darwin was a Christian, by the way? Not trying to prove a point--other than suggesting, again, that creationism and evolution can coexist peacefully within an individual.

To answer your question if creationists are dumbies, their not.
Think of it this way (and I ask all have an open mind here)
A car is very complex, and it functions very much like a human- the window wipers are like our eyelids, the gas tank like our stomach, etc. Now if I asked you who made your car you might say: Ford, or Toyota. It has a creator, just like a painting has a painter. That is the main problem with evolution (although there are many). EVERYTHING has a Creator. And if you ask, then who created God? He always was. End of story. That may seem hard to understand, but that is where faith comes in.
Also, since you now see that i am a creationist, I challenge you to read:
John 3:1-21
and
John 4:1-26
I am taking a biology course, so i am meeting your part of the deal!

The problem with evolution is that you cannot prove it. It is not like with gravity where you can just drop a ball to prove your point. It is all speculation based on one interpretation of the evidence.
This is not to say that creation is explicitely provable, but I find that my faith in God's abilitiy to retell what he did is larger than my faith in scientists to make up their own versions and claim they are fact.
There are definitely aspects of evolutionary theory that are tru, such as speciation through adaption, which is an observable fact, but then there is the unprovable extension of this that new genetic information arises from processes such as this which is in fac t contrary to the mechanism which works in the opposite direction.
If the theory of evolution disappeared today, the only difference in the world would be a whole lot of research dollars going to related researches that might actually have a beneficial outcome, other than trying to create taxidermal classifications for creatures whose relation, or degree thereof cannot be proven.
Of course it is hard to even try to prove either way these days, considering that most of the common examples on both sides have been debunked as forgeries.

Yep! you said it! It's the most exquisitely crafted! It's so exquisitely crafted that mankind can't figure it out. But man will debate all his life, one way or another, until his dying day. Did you know that creationism is backed by a lot of actual facts too? You need to read more books. Especially on archeology.

The thing that boggles my mind is how neither side can seperate creation from evolution. Not one place in the Bible does it list evolution as an abomination.
I myself believe in both the Creation and evolution because evolution does not explain how we got here, only how we got this far.
For those who point to the "Big Bang," that is, by way of trying to use it interchangably with evolution does both arguments a huge injustice.
By the by, belief in the "Big Bang" is faith, just like believing in Creationism. This due to the large absence of evidence of both, meaning anyone who believes in either is taking it on faith that they are right.
Both sides need to be enlightened. The mud slinging serves only to stain.
Oh, and God bless all of you.

ok, well, i am not a creationist, nor am i a bible follower, but i do understand this a bit.
the Theory of Evolution is not made into law because of religion, too many, maybe a majority, hold religious valuse, and although there may be solid proof of evolution, they still follow that god made adam and eve. an analogy would be the existence of god, which is controversial, while there may be proof that no god exists, no matter how much proof is found, people will still believe that there is god..so, i'm guessing by , creationist, you mean people who totally one sided belive in god creating everything...these would probably be people who have deep seeded religious values that have been basically put into them since birth...who is to tell them they can't think like that? and who are you to tell them that they can't? while u belive in the theory of evolution, u still must respect the thoughts of others, no matter how odd or convoluded they may be...yes, i do believe in evolution, but i also believe u should respect how others think. you are fighting one of the most uphill battle in the world in calling people who hold religion close to themselves names like you are..the believe in creationism, because they believe in religion deeply, and i'm sorry, but you have no right to tell them they can't...they aren't hurting you in any way, if you dont wanna know, see or look at what they think, then click another link when u see something having to do with it, or turn away when someone starts preaching about it, its not ur call to make fools of people who belive in something.

You act as if Evolution and Creationism are at odds with each other.
Micro-evolution, Has nothing to do with the origin of human beings, it simply explains environmental adaptation. Micro-evolution, is that one that everyone talks about as having so much scientific support, that's because it does.
Macro-evolution, could still be the result of an intelligent creator. I don't believe it because there are still many, many holes in the theory and there is simply no reason a literal interpretation of the biblical creation couldn't be true.

Have you heard that people of science and evolution are planning to scrap pluto from the solar system? Do they have reason? If these scientific claims are really that precise then why do they keep on changing their minds. People believe what they believe because it is the outcome of their education and experiences from the past and no two individuals have exactly the same past. It has nothing to do with what you and I believe. If I believe something different from you, would that hurt you?
