The Bible teaches that righteous loved ones that died before us will be raised to join the righteous living in God's kingdom. (Isaiah 26:19; Jeremiah 31:15-17; I Corinthians 15:51-55; I Thessalonians 4:13-18) The Scriptures also teach that people in God's new kingdom will know each other, just as people recognize each other on earth today.

Hi,
i can answer from christian perspective. Bible say like our earthly body we will also have a heavenly body. so it might be different to our present body. also in Luke 20:27-39 talks about women getting married 7 times as as the brothers die one by one. who will she belong when she goes to heaven. Jesus says they will be like angels and will not be given in mar rage. What we can conclude from this passage is that she will not have remember the earthly relationship. and even in the parable of rich man and Lazarus it was the rich man who was in hell was pleading to Abraham to send Lazarus who was in heaven to his brothers in earth. Lazarus did speak about the rich man. But God will decide whatever necasary for us to remember. we'll know each other but i not completely may be.

i think if we are truely in heaven, there would be no appearance of self at all.... we would just be, in spirit. i think when we are in heaven we escape the physical world and all its properties, including our physical self. it would be a different realm, where we are truely free.... and when we go to heaven, and join those who have died before us, we find our loved ones because we are, and always have been, connected in spirit... not because we recognize their face...

I remember reading something like

and they shall be known as they are known
