Why is it when we see quistions from the opposite faith or beliefs we jump in and give an answer just to aggrivate the asker? There is no point in being mean and spiteful. Isnt there a better way to go about it? Why must we quistion each and every faith? The truth is if you were strong and true to your own faith you wouldnt be asking about others to start with? RIGHT?

I guess my quistion was missed? Everyone seems to have zoned in on my final statment. The quistion is Why must we be so mean about it. Myself included I have found myself repeated times getting mean about answering what I felt was a dumb quistion. Why dont we just move on to something else and leave that particular quistion alone? Why do we feel we must quistion others mental status because of there faith?

I can't figure this out either. My Grandma used to tell me that if you don't have anything good to say that you should not say it.. and I would hope we all respect what Grandma used to say...
Thank you for the insight, at least I don't feel so alone. I try to teach and help where I can and it has long bothered me that I read careless and meaningless answers so often. Especially about faith, which is not something that should be used to hurt others with. Tolerance should be key here, and mine is wearing thin for those who are so hateful. It isn't helping.
Blessed Be.

YEAH, be strong with your own faith because that's what makes you a person different from any one else. But, but...people are human and humans do act differently sometimes, as in, they are weirdos in every XX number of people. Shun them, will you?
As long as you know what's good for your own, don't give a damn to anything that they may have done, even though they might have been right in doing that. Just keep your faith to your own and don't question more because like you've said, it further aggravates people.

Its a human tendency to correct which you think is wrong. Religion is something thats very crucial in life because most of us depend on it to balance our lives. Our trust and faith is so much into it that any statement going against it comes out as a alarm for us thats when we panic and react in such a manner when somebody questions the validity of our faith. Though if you think deep somwhere down the line the logic behind a particular process followed in different relegions might be the same.. but Then its too late for us to go to the logic. we just react because somebody just stepped on our tail :)

you are right to a point. I think most people aren't as strong in their faith as they would like others, including their selves, to believe. We question because we aren't sure and there is a part of us that needs to know the other sides. now the ones that just answer to start something, well, that could be because they are so strong in their faith that anyone who questions it must be crazy or they just want to tick some folks off.

I think that some believe that the question was asked in an antagonistic manner. And then there are some who try to pose as over zealous Christians that come on here to damage the reputation of Christians.
Since you didn't show an example, I have to also paint with a broad brush.

Some askers just demand it!
You can tell when there all in CAPS.
Some use language that if the talked like that around me would not be talking for about 3 weeks, maybe longer (at least there teeth would not move)

wrong,
some faiths call for people to embark on a path to knowlege.
about things mundane and thigs devine.
many pagan faiths call for people to learn about the religions of their neighbors. not to try to convert them but so that when you visit them you are able to respect their customs and traditions.
sometimes when i see a question from someone of another faith i can give a pretty good answer because i know a good bit about most major religions.

I agree that we shouldn't give stupid and mean answers to relavent questions. That's just wasting everyones' time. I ask lots of questions about other religions because 1) I don't know a lot about them and 2) I find it interesting on how other people think/believe.

It's called different points of view. This is a forum where people can post a question and others can share their thoughts. It's not a one-sided place where there are only people who agree with you. It's for open-minded people who enjoy learning and healthy debate.

Virtual forums prompt some people to say things they wouldn't dare say in face to face conversation. They like to think that finally in their lives, they can be "bold" and "shocking" when in fact they're just illustrating their own lack of assertiveness, maturity, and sensitivity. By offending someone, they feel like they finally have some influence or presence in their otherwise mundane, bitter lives.
