It is true religion and politics are the two main causes of war and yes it is because men are in charge of both.

From precise analysis we will know that religion is not the actual reason but people are. But there is not even 0.01 percent who will take the religious teachings in the right sense. Having such a low possibility there is no meaning in honouring the religions. If religions helps only such a minute persent and the rest all takes in the wrong sense, we cannot say it is a useful system.
About the minority who takes it in the right sense, even without religion also they will turn in the right path only.
I read in Bhagaswat Geetha (A Hindu spiritual book) that one among a thousand searches me (the creator) and one among those search meets me.
Effectively what the religions could offer to the world is only the present peaceless situations. Wars and enmity are the proven results.

No it dosent. first, people fail to integrate with other societies, cultures and religion to explore and understand other religions, this causes break ups in societies integration and in turn it causes problems between the groups.
second, some people want to cause fights and wars for various interests, and they will always use religion as an excuse! but it isnt!
third, many people are very stupid, they follow a religious leader who might be very corrupt and uses religion as an excuse to provoke his followers, they in turn will cause fights with other people who belong to other religions, just by one word of their leader. 'brain wash'!
Fourth, people like you think that religions cause fights because of the media! some people will believe the radio, the tv etc! they exagerrate and brain wash society! for example after 11th/9 everyone is turning against the muslims?? but why?! is it because the media said they are terrorists? well, no! there are other theories that the usa government did this on purpose to have an excuse for the war on afghanistan.
Finally, all religons speak of peace and love! so they dont cause hate and wars. its the humans!

Surah 2:256 inthe interpretation of the meaning: There is no Compulsion in Religion, Truth has become clear from error, therefore whoever disbelievs in Satan and believes in Allah(God) has taken a firm support that never gives way, And Allah(God) is All-Hearing,All Knowing.

It's not the religions which cause fights. The religions teach peace. It's the humans who don't seem to understand that lesson.

Religion does not cause the fighting - people fight and use religion as an excuse, justification for the fighting.

I think that people should have their different religions, faiths and what not.
Its not so much the religion that causes the fights, its the extreme individuals within the faith.
Some who believe that their religion is THE religion, and its just not the case.
One way of looking at religion, is that God may have different names in different languages, but he/her is essentially the same entity.
even if you have many gods/goddesses, they would form the whole of another faith, just their different faces!

Yeah, I'd love to agree with your statement completely, but I'm with a lot of the other guys here- people who follow the heart of religion will be adverse to petty conflicts... people who just follow the peripheral details may be more likely to get into arguments, but that's not the heart of the religion, so they are not true followers.
