This might bring up quite a stir, but my Mum has been trying for a while to get me to become a christiany. But quite frankly i don't want to. Perhaps you could just give me some of your views on why i should or shouldn't?? Perhaps i need a bit of enlightment, if i had to choose though i would choose buddhism over christianity. What do you think??

This question, by its nature, won't make you change your life. It is, however, asking, if on yahoo answers, what would happen, if you read a question, that made you stop in your mind, and think, and maybe laugh a bit, or cry a bit, and it made how you view the world change and become upside down, or at least, a completely different perspective, maybe not changing your belief, but understanding how someone could belief something different than what you have ever imagined before?

This has happened to me here on yahoo answers. I know it has happened to other people. Once in a while people read something I ask or answer and it changes them.

Have you, in your mind's eye, allowed for such a change? If so, that's addictive. If not, I pity you, you are lost. Many will know what I mean by this.

What if someone reads this question and for the first time, realizes, they don't know everything, and maybe need to be open to change. Would Socrates jump from his grave to dance for joy?

I am a 21 year old catholic and I have a fear of evil or the devil trying to hurt me before I go to bed.. Or whenever it is dark. I pray and I still am in fear what can I do. My cousin told me a story that when she was little she listened to devil music and she went to slep and woke up to red hands curling her toes back. Her mom came in and had to do the rosary and it stopped. My aunt said that was true. Help

I have been promised great merits and happy destiny and now all that has gone in deep water. Now Buddhist search for a new votary of the Lotus Sutra who will gain all my merits and I have suffered all condemnation because of the Lotus Sutra.
for sure this proverb is true: "because one will see the dark, the other will see the light" it means that some people are happy because some others suffers for them.
I am deeply dissapointed by Buddhism.

I've been looking for a roommate for a while. But I don't know how to ask people I meet from the start if they are Christians or not. I live in Mexico, and a lot people believe in saints, and that's what I want to avoid. My best friend, and old roommate is an atheist, he's not Christian, but at least I don't have to hear him talk about saints and catholicism like a lot of people here in Mexico.

Seems to me like people abuse their religious beliefs.

Is the universe created by a God, an intelligent designer, who designs every atom, and every snowflake, and every thing could be fed into a computer, and results spat out, and the God computer could tell us the results of who will answer this and what will they say.

Or did you have a choice in coming to this question and picking it, which I suppose, could be the case if you are a God believer or a non-believer.

However, 100% of non-God believers, I believe, would say that it was their choice to click on this question and answer.

What say you? Was it fate ordained by the intelligent designer, or was it a creator who made you and gave you the choice to answer this, or was it through the forces of nature you came to be where you are now, and a choice to click this question and answer.

Also, is this a question, you ask yourself, everyday? When was the last time that the answer was different for you?

Okay before you call this a stupid question, allow me to point out some details.

First the name, Santa/Satan are two letters from each other.

Secondly the redness. Both supposedly wear(are) red.

They both live in mysterious far away places.

Have multiple names -- Kris Kringle, St. Nick, Lucifer, the Devil.

One lives where it is really hot and one where it is really cold.
