From what I have observed of Christians, I'd have to say having others(the church) think for you.

The greatest benefit of being a true Christian (there are a lot of phony ones out there) is the guarantee of eternity with Jesus, but that's not the only benefit. God wants His child to be an example to others. He wants us to be stewards of everything He owns. To put it bluntly, He wants us to be prosperous today.
In the Bible there are 500+ scriptures concerning faith, 500+ scriptures on prayer, and over 2000 scriptures about wealth. God doesn't want His children to want for anything. Do you get all of this by just becoming a Christian? No, but you do have a covenant right to it. It's like going to school to be a doctor. Just because you get a degree doesn't mean you will automatically become rich. It's how you apply what you have learned, keep learning new principles and techniques, and the zeal with which you pursue your career. Being a Christian is the same way. You need to study, enjoy fellowship, and act on what you learn to grow in Christ. You can be healed, wealthy, unafraid, free of drugs, free of pain, or anything else you need. Salvation is guaranteed; the other benefits are earned by faith and obedience.

Being connected to a religious community (whether it's Christian or not) is often beneficial psychologically, socially, and even physically. Religion provides opportunities for fulfilling social interaction and gives you a sense of meaning in life.
But what are the specific benefits of being a Christian? Often people focus on "Heaven," but the afterlife is not really what the Christian faith is all about. The real benefit of being a Christian is entering a real and fulfilling love relationship with Jesus, experiencing God's love and forgiveness, and being transformed into someone who genuinely loves others. Of course being a Christian isn't always easy or fun -- Jesus told his followers to take up their crosses if they wished to follow him -- but in the end, in my opinion, there is no better or more meaningful way to live.

I just stoped being a christian last year.
I didn't make my conformation because I realized that you don't have to be a christian to have eternal life. Going to mass on weekends and believing in God and Jesus doesn't get you into heaven. I just have too do MY best in life so that the world might be just a little better when i die, and maybe some higher power will grant me eternal life somehow.
So too answer your question-
There is not much that helps you by being a christian.
Just do YOUR best in life.

Hello,to answer your question i d first of all love to let you know the meaning of the word CHRISTAIN. It means CHRIST-LIKE.
The best life on earth is for the Christain, simply because the Christain has the GOD NATURE in him\her.
The Bible says in John chapter 3 verse 16 that" for God so loved the world that he GAVE his son, that WHOSOEVER believes i him, should not PERISH(expire, suffer),but should have eternal life"
The word translated as "Eternal Life",from the original Greek means ZOE.
ZOE is the GOD-Life,the God kind of life and thats what you receive when you become born again. It means that you receive the very essence of divinity.
When you have Zoe,you cease to be an ordinary man,you become a SUPERMAN IN CHRIST.You can change any unfavouable situation in your life.
Also, when you become a christain(which means you are born again),you receive the HOLY SPIRIT and he is the ACTIVE POWER OF GOD simply because God does not do anything without his Spirit. The Bible calls him the one who proceeds from the father.
As a christain,if you do not recognise the Holy Spirit,YOU WILL STRUGGLE in every area of your life and because you are ignorant of this fact ,you ll think that God is responsible for your failures in life, but that is not true.
You need the Holy Spirit because before the Lord Jesus ascended to Heaven he said"i will ask the father and he will give you another comforter to be with you FOREVER".(John 14:16)
The holy spirit is with you even as you read this reply and he will guide you and lead you into all truth,IF YOU ALLOW HIM.
God Bless you

Well, first of all you get to go to Heaven when the world ends, second of all, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you really do have a purpose that GOD (the one and ONLY God!!!) created you for, and third, Jesus gets His child back.
Jesus refers to as children because we do not no our way, only He can show us.
I hope, more than anything, that you do choose to be a christian and that you grow in Christ daily. This is the ONLY way to Heaven. Through Christ!
There are more things to Christianity than benefits though, you do have to work. I am not saying it is easy, but it is the right thing to do.
Please, be a christian. Jesus died for YOU!
Please contact me when you decide what you are going to choose. Please. maapie06@yahoo.com

benefits...your making it sound like a health plan. Faith isn't about the "benefits" it's about love, and life, and joy. About seeking Christ, about knowing that someone loved you enough to die for you. It's about celebrating the Resurrection and celebrating in that fact that you are the chosen of god. It's about seeking his face with every breath. It's about passion, a love so deep that it wraps you up and you can feel it like a blanket around you at all times
sorry...I got a little carried away there!!!

I'm no longer subject to death for my sins, because Jesus Christ died on the cross for me. John 3:16
And also the promise of heaven is what I look forward to. There will be no more tears or sadness either when I get up there. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:4 (NIV)
