December 25 wasn't designated till 360 a.d.
it is estimated that he was born late summer or early fall. John the baptist was born sometime in the spring and if he is 6 months older than jesus, then jesus was most likely born in early fall, probably around september. and the star seen is a star that is seen around that time, no other time. and it is estimated that he was born in 3 or 4 B.C. Luke's gospel actually goes into more detail about jesus' birth and age and what was happening around those times. nor was he born at midnight
christians changed it to help convert jews (hannukah holiday) and pagans (celebrating the birth of the sun god that they worshipped on that day at midnight)
it is estimated around sunset of September 11th of 3 BC

The Bible doesn't give an actual date for Jesus birthday. However, it is known, based on the details that were given in the Bible, that it would probably have been in the fall season. It is known that it wasn't in the winter time, because the winter season is very cold & rainy in that area, and it is unlikely that the shepherds & their sheep would have been out in the open field at night during that time, as they were documented as being on the evening of Jesus birth. This, as well as the facts referenced to the census being taken (which were why his parents traveled to Bethlehem), his age in relation to John's, etc along with other details (too many to mention on this one answer), supports that.
The reason that it wasn't customary for early Christians to celebrate Jesus birth, is because it wasn't customary for Christians to celebrate ANY birthday during that time. Celebrating the day of one's birth came from Rome & Greece, and the associated customs (birthday cake, candles, well-wishes) came from their religious mythology.
The customs involved with the celebration of Christmas actually also came from the ancient festival of "Saturnalia", and again are not Christian based, & do not originate with anything associated with Jesus. Saturnalia was the feast at which the Romans commemorated the dedication of the temple of the god Saturn, which took place on 17 December. Over the years, it expanded to a whole week, up to 23 December. In the vagaring Roman calendar the Winter Solstice fell in this period; in imperial times that event was celebrated in honour of Sol Invictus and put on 25 December by emperor Aurelian. Christmas wasn't adopted as a 'Christian' holiday until later, when trying to make it "more comfortable" to 'convert' those that had a hard time letting go of this "Saturnalia" festival. And attaching Jesus' name to it was a way of 'justifying' the adoption of this non-christian holiday, so as not to 'offend' those that were already 'practicing Christians'.
So, long story short, there is no specific date documenting Jesus birth. The day of one's birth is a miraculous day. However, the day of Jesus' death is the day that his mission on earth had been accomplished, which is why that is the only day he asked specifically for us to commemorate in the Bible.

The exact date of Jesus's birth here on earth we do not know. However, the 12/25 date is in the ball park, if one analyzes scripture ( predominately Luke).
Simple way to get a 'ballpark' idea is; Zacharias was in the temple (Yom Kippur) when the angel told him about Elizabeth and John (the Baptist) birth. Mary visited Elizabeth when she was 6 months pregnant. Allow 9 months fora pregnancy (10 months if one uses Jewish months which are shorter than our Julian months); and one gets Yom Kippur plus 15 mionths; around end of December.

Christianity has not come together on a exact date, Catholics celebrate it on December 25 (Christmas) but Orthodox Christians celebrate it later on January 7th because they follow the Julian calendar. Both dates are merely traditional and neither is thought to be the actual birth-date of Jesus.

This previous 3 hundred and sixty 5 days that fell on Sept 27. you ought to keep in mind that that is a diverse calendar than we use now so Tisri 15 gained't fall on an same day on our calendar from 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to three hundred and sixty 5 days, cutting-edge 3 hundred and sixty 5 days is a leap 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and includes 13 months. First procedure the priesthood might want to have served in Nissan, in the spring .

The bible does not tell us the actual birthday of Jesus.
So really when we celebrate on December 25th we are hanging on to a Roman Catholic tradition. (do the research and read about the history of it all)

I heard he is a baby of Spring? Its celebrated in xmas to coincide with the pagan celebration of YULE which is one of the 4 minor Sabbats.
Yule, celebrates the rebirth of the Sun, the Sun God and honors the Horned God. The longest night of the year falls on Yule. Yule is when we celebrate the coming light, and thank the Gods for seeing us through the longest night. It is a time to look on the past year's achievements and to celebrate with family and friends.
This day is the official first day of winter. The Goddess gives birth to the Sun Child and hope for new light is born (sound familiar).
Blessings of the Goddess and God.

The calendar that we currently use did not exist at the time. Since it is based on his birth how could it be used? When was his mother born?

Most of us don't know the actual date of his birth. Dec. 25th is when we celebrate it. However most of us know that isn't the date of his birth. The important issue is that he was born and died for us. Whether or not we choose to accept him is up to each individual.
