The best way is to test his knowledge of the unknown. A true Psychic tells you things that you might not want to hear but a fake psychic tells you things that pleases you to hear.
Medium does not necessarily means they are psychic. They are healers . Psychics are people with heightened senses and abilities to see the unknown beings or realms. Able to sense essence of the past but never the future.
Hope this enlightens you a little in your quest for knowledge.

Of all the so called psychics out there, I find it funny that not one of them foretold about the tragic day of 9/11. However... I believe that there are truly gifted people with extra-sensitive spirits who can see auras of people, or have the ability to read peoples body language, faces, etc...
Put it this way, if you go to a medium and they ask you more than one question, then their ...fishing for info.

It's a con. Read up on Barnum statements, cold reading, hot reading, and leading statements.
Barnum statements are statements that are either misleading in their construction, or so vague as to fit any number of meanings.
Cold reading is a method used to make people think they are reading your mind. Mediums use this technique to get information for their "readings".
Hot reading is much the same as cold reading, but the medium has a method of obtaining inside information like someone overhearing a conversation, or a hidden microphone.
Leading statements are pretty self explanatory. A statement that makes someone offer information. If you watch any of those idiotic shows like Crossing Over, these statements are used quite a bit.
Any one of these techniques is capable of fooling someone who is simply willing to believe in the mediums power. Most mediums combine as many skills as they can. These 4 are not the only methods employed by mediums to put on a good show for someone. They want to get paid, and will figure out any number of ways to make you think they are for real.
Don't fall for it...

Check out John Edward. He has several books. I was skeptical until I saw him in person. His books will expalin a lot more than just watching his television productions.

Hi. Yes there is in my view. But unfortunately many of them are frauds or not very good at mediumship, and are only out to make money. Its best if your going to see one to make sure they have good past references.

Yes there are, and as bad as the fake ones may be, you really don't want to mess with the real ones.

They're ALL fakes. If they were real the government would be paying them millions for their help...
