Or lots of rich christians.. or lots of mountains in the sea? etc

And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25 NAB)
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14 NAB)

I have wondered the same thing. I have asked for many things, good things, and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. One of the keys to this is that we need to have 'the mind of Christ'. We need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. The greatest prayer to say, sometimes, is "Thy will be done, Lord"

Jesus and his disciples had some disagreements about how things should be done. It came down to that Jesus understood the situation much better than the disciples did.

Most people were expecting a messiah that would end all wars, and straighten this whole world out,,, and it didn't seem that he did that at all when he got crucified. They were very disappointed and then they hid and some left. But then, on the road to Emmaus he explained. He suffered and died, and opened up heaven, and he told us to follow Him.... through suffering and death to heaven with Him.

When a small child asks the parents for something,, if it is good it is given, if it is not so good than it is best that it not be given. The parent has a better idea.

Jesus was not lying.

First, Jesus is referring to those who pray without doubt. That's tough, I think, as mankind is prone to doubt.

Second, prayer requires belief in Jesus Christ - not a partial belief, but a complete belief without doubt and fully devoted to his righteousness.

Third, all prayers to God through belief in Jesus Christ are answered - eventually.

Why would you throw a mountain into the sea in the name of Jesus Christ? I think Jesus used this as an illustration of the awesome power of prayer. I also think that it is just as amazing to see any number of other prayers answered as it is to see a mountain crash into the sea.

Why would a Christian ask for riches (assuming you mean financial wealth) - where does God receive glory from that? Christians store up their riches (not referring to financial wealth)in heaven.

As for war, imagine all the prayers to, for example, liberate an oppressed people. War might be the course God chooses to manage everyone's prayers. The war will end (to answer the prayers of some) and perhaps a people are liberated (using the same example) (to answer the prayers of others).

These are good questions. I think that many people question these verses, wondering why their prayers aren't answered. The answers I've written are poor reflections of the truth offered in the Holy Bible. The answers you seek are written there.

If you pray for an end to war, but war continues, it's not because God isn't hearing your prayers.

It's because the people responsible for war still insist on engaging in it.

There is nothing in the Bible that says it's immoral to be rich, in and of itself.

Jesus says that while it's hard for a rich man to enter Heaven, it's not impossible -- all things are possible with God.

The example of a fig tree is not a good one with which to analogize prayers ending war.

The fig tree planting itself (or uprooting itself) is not dependent on the actions of other people.

War is dependent on the actions of other people, though -- so the two are not comparable.

You must correlate the entire word of God.
Jesus told s to pray in his will. In Matthew 24 Jesus told us about the end times that there would be Wars and rumors of wars and that nature would erupt as never before. To pray for no war would be out of the will of God.

What if one man prays for rain , while another needs sun.
It is an evil and adulterous generation that seeketh a sign.

Remember still that the kingdom of the Christ is not of this world but the next.

There will be war as Jesus said. The last war will be a devastating one and unless the days be shortend , no flesh would be saved,

Jesus word is solid.

If you notice these are the prayers of a righteous person. The prayers of a True Christian will be answered because they will always be aligned with God's will.

Most people do not get their prayers answered because they do not have a relationship with God through Jesus.

In Christ,
Bob

Jesus did not lie. All prayers are answered. But the answers are not always yes. They are either yes, no, or wait.

The verse you used is not saying that God is like a genie in a lamp who has to grant your wishes. It's saying that if you are asking for something within God's will you will receive it. (Have you ever seen the movie Bruce Almighty? Remember what happened when Bruce just replied to all the prayers with a "yes". There was complete chaos.)

Jesus didn't lie (although he might have been misquoted) and all prayers are NOT answered. Man makes war and uses religion and God as an excuse for it.

Don't take the Bible or other religious texts literally - use them as a guide for living a good life.

""Did jesus lie? If all prayers are answered then why is there war?""

No HE did not lie.

HE answers - sometimes yes, sometimes NO.

HE is not Santa and HE has a bigger plan than we can ever imagine.

The God made this World PERFECT.
We screwed it up - maybe that's one of the reasons why there is a HEAVEN ---

Give The GOD a chance-----

The earth has bad things happen it is a fact of life.
But it isn't God's fault.
Adam and Eve didn't want God's help. They basically said I want to do it by myself. So that is what they are doing.
When Jesus takes over his kingdom government he will calm the storms and prevent earthquakes.
First we get some time to see how well we do on our own.

plz i am not trying to be mean but jesus is not the one who answers the prayers.cuz god is. Allah is the one who gives what he wills and takes away from what he wills. if u r a true beliver in ur religion and u know about it may i ask why are u questioning it. actually why are u questioning ur own jesus to other people if u belive that he knows what u do. or may i say he has accout of every hair on your body. oh and it says if you have faith and and do not doubt. but here u r doubting. and u dont seem to be beliveing that u will get it answered. oh and it sounds like the father is saying this so this means pray to god not jesus. u are asking 4 it too much and when u ask too much then that means ur not really beliving that u will get it answered. have patintance . < one of the many good things islam has thought me as a 13 year old. october 28th i am 14 and i will have pateitance in that. but my friend here u are saying did jesus lie. practly calling ur who u belive in a liar. i swear to god if u were a muslim these thoughts would cross ur mind and just pass. with out u asking questions of ur religion because you would know the source of these thoughts trying to lead u astry. oh and how can u not think of the many things god has done you and ur mind is focused on the things u only want.
