And I am amazed how well informed folk are. I have tried for years to read all of the bible but have never suceeded. Though I do remember St Pauls apostle to the chorinthians about the great virtues of faith, hope and love the greatest being love. I would like to know have you read the bible end to end and what book or testament has stayed with you throughout your life. And perhaps influneced you most. You do not neccessarily need to be a practising christian, but something that you were taught at school in in religous studies.

Life is composed of many long hours, many long days.

It's conceivable that at some point in time, someone comes along and tells you something that changes your life forever.

You look back at that moment in time and feel there was something special about that encounter, something even magical, something mystical.

For those of us who believe in Jesus, they believe that we had an encounter with the Master Himself.

If not HIM, then something (perhaps His angel) that works with Him.

This has happened to me several times. Once When I drove a Lady Doctor to N.Y.U. Medical Center, and the advice she gave me has blessed me with excellent health ever since.

If not Jesus, then she was His Angel, and I'm grateful to that Lady Doctor.

Tell me your story, if you have one similar to mine.

Ten points to the best one.

I have long misunderstood why the moderate faithful Muslims, who are the majority of the radical terrorists, do not stand up to the radicals who give the while group and bad name. Is it that the terror inflicts even the average Muslim who observes Ramaddan, prays five times a day etc..?

Specifically people who think we should teach religion in schools. If you teach a kid that one religion is right, you're telling him/her that every other religion is wrong. Anything putting any religion infront of other religions is wrong and illegal. This is religious oppression. You have religious schools for that. If however you say it would just be to help teach morals, then you are admitting its uselessness. Because you can teach a person morals completely seperate of any religion. This is a proven fact.

On civil unions for people of the same sex. If you think this is wrong based on religion then you have no place in this debate. You may debate whether or not there is established seperation of church and state, but there is no question about oppression of religion being forbidden in the 1st amendment. If you tell some one that they can't do something based on your beliefs you are saying your religious beliefs are more valid and important than theirs. This is never justified.

So you think that abortions are cruel, when all that happens is that a doctor gives a quick death to a possible life. Who knows, the possible life could have a chance of living a miserable life of poverty.

If you think abortion's so bad, how about you ban male masturbation first? Everytime someone does it, it kills MILLIONS of possible lives.

It's easy to say, "well yes, he can."

By definition, there can only be one ALL-powerful being.

Don't you know it says in the holy gospel of the FSM that:

A. Meatball: 9384: Thou shalt not eat other than noodle soup at thy dinner table.

B. Parmesan: 2432: When thy darkness thouth come thee shou'lt not eat other than thy Ramen noodle.

Seriously, Don't you all know you wont get to heaven if you do not follow the gospel? I know some of you may have doubts but you just need tht little leap of faith that has been put into your mind as a good thing so your government and other people can control you to believe this. It's not that difficult.

I ask this because when I apply the classic ethical test question to it: "If everybody did it...would it still be ok?" And it fails the test. (If everybody did it, the human race would die off pretty quickly.) So...is it ethical?

I know Michael the Archangel has been called upon by many people to combat evil. It would be nice to hear of anyones experience of calling on this powerful Angel to help them.

God bless and peace to you all including the jokers and so forth that this question will attract!

I know there are some really nice non-religious people who don't believe in God, Religion, the Bible or whatever. Some of these people are also bright intelligent academics, but their commonsense and logic seems to fail them completely when questioned about why they don't believe. They seem to give up logic for mere mockery and insults.

The Bible says:
Leviticus 18:22 " Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable."

How much more proof do you need it says it in the bible in black and white.

I know there are some really nice religious people who believe in God, Religion, the Bible or whatever. Some of these people are also bright intelligent academics, but their commonsense and logic seems to fail them completely when questioned about why they believe. They seem to give up logic for blind faith.

I find it extraordinary that otherwise nice bright intelligent people are unable to explain meaningfully why they believe, other than to repeat quotes from historical religious documents (like the Bible) as if they were fact, or just say they have faith and that’s why they believe.

If these same people were presented a Scientific Instruction Manual which contained as many anomalies, speculation, conjecture, and unproven facts as the Bible, they would tear it to pieces in no time at all as being fake.

There seems to be a mental association in the minds of religious people that connects fear of the unknown (like fear of the dark) if they openly doubt their religious beliefs.

if abortion is so bad why do you not bother fighting the reasons women get abortions
example: single mothers often get abortions to keep themselves and thier would be kids out of poverty.
i am prochoice. i dont mind if you are prolife but if you dont like abortions you better do something about it.

I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven.

If the above is true - I would have a problem with being a friend of a follower of Allah when their clerics are telling their followers to kill me.

Question: Would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill me in order to go to Heaven or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to Heaven and He wants you to be there as well?"

The amount of time it takes for revolutions of stars and the calculated ages galaxies, and supernovas? Why does God make nebulas?
