What is religion?

I have and hate it! After learning what happened to the Aboriginals being foced into Residential Schools by the church and the assaults the priests did on the children is terrible and still today it's going on. You hear it in the news. Now adults, they come out to put shame on these sick people. Then to top it off, the church covers it up and moves the priest to another church in another province or state without dealing with the problem priest and turn a blind eye to the situation.

I prefer Spirituality to religion. I love God and worship. I am not a tradtional christian. I have a difficult time with the "Hell" concept, God is love, loving unconditionally. We are all as one. One with all, the earth, the heavens, etc. Meditation is the best way to think deeply...let go and see what the Heavens have to say...the problem is not our prayers but taking time to listen to the message.

I was raised in a Roman-Catholic family. I went to church, and believed in God. As I grew up I realized that religions were not for me. I started thinking about everything and I found deep inside of me that the belief of a God was just in me because my family squeezed it in there, but not because I truly understood it and believed it. I did some research; I read about different religions and popular beliefs. I am now an athiest and I respect everyone's beliefs and no one thinks less of me after they get to know me and why I am athiest.

Constantly. I totally disagree with the wackos and extremists in the Catholic church. I'm a total moderate and a very very liberal Catholic. I'm all for abortions, birth control, capital punishment, etc... I'm not for moving a priest to another parish after he sexually abuses any kids, I'm all for having them put to death for commiting such atrocities against children. I believe in what I believ in, but, I aint goanna push it on anyone. Believe in what you wanna believe in so long as it doesnt hurt people. Beat your drums, pray to rocks, kill a chicken, so what.... thats your thing.

I've thought about not just my faith, but the faiths of others, and how they interperet the same message, do good unto your fellow man. The message is all the same, no matter what you wanna call it, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian... So what.

Have you ever thought deeply about my erection? That would be about the same thing wouldn't it? Your own thoughts, based on your own experiences, trying to reconcile something so grand you can't even comprehend it, not to mention that you've never seen it and can only assume it even exists.

Very much!. I searched my soul and researched many beliefs and finally found what meshed with my heart, mind and spirit.
When you reach peace of mind, you will know you have the right religion FOR YOU. It's very personal.

Religion is action. Spirituality is what requires depth. We express our spiriutality in our different religions. Religions are expressions of our beliefs.

I've studied it my entire life, that's why I know it is true. I've studied many others as well, none compare to the truth of Jesus Christ and the Salvation that He provided.
God is God alone, there is no other.
