God made man in his own image (Gen 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness")

Apologists say that this does not apply to physical image, but to character/attributes/qualities.
Any ideas which properties do we get?
The attributes of God most commonly mentioned are: almighty, eternal, holy, immense, immortal, immutable, incomprehensible, ineffable, infinite, intelligent, invisible, just, loving, merciful, most high, most wise, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, patient, perfect, provident, self-dependent, supreme, true

Agnostic here, not wanting to change anyone's religion or citizenship, based on this question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AreNsRtl4GCzn43fv5TaEOrzy6IX?qid=20060818104511AA1ERia

Just curious, to people who think this, What is wrong with you?

My name is Jim Darwin. I'm 29. I'm an agnostic and I don't believe God exists. I served four years in the Unites States Coast Guard defending the rights of Americans to worship or to not worship as they saw fit.

I have the ability to love other human persons. I have a wife and I have a son who I love very much. I love America.

So, just curious, to those who don't think non-religious persons should be American Citizens, what is wrong with you?

He is everywhere. And he can be in more than one place at a time. He is an amazing God. Even though you can't see him he's there.

How do we really know that he and a lot of others weren't complete Schizos back then? We have medications for people like that now.Could it be possible that Jesus and his followers were disillusioned into the whole thing?

I am a 20 year old Youth Ministry major at a Bible College. And to be honest, sometimes I get embarassed on behalf of Christianity at the way some of the "Christian Fundamentalists" act on here towards athiests, agnostics, and any non-Christian. Now, some of the people in the athiests, agnostics, and non-Christian group do say some pretty nasty things, also, but overall, whenever a Christian makes some type of question where they think they've solved all of your problems, how does that make you respsond? I have been educated in apologetics and I realize most of the answers Christians give to your questions are general and easily refuted, so hopefully the Christians on here can look at this question and realize what type of steps to take in order to just befriend those who don't believe.

Much love in Christ.

Muslims today employ terror in almost all their imagined disputes. Whether its the Phillipines, Chechnia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Nigeria, Sudan, Somolia, Iraq, Israel, Algeria, Indonesia...

Only a very small percentage of Islamic religious clergy, in Islamic countries, have issued decrees (fatwas) against this method of Jihad. This is a critical indicator of how well accepted terror is within the Islamic community because fatwas are issued frequently, for any perceived affront to Islam.

Even the slightest perceieved misrepresentation of Islam is sure to get a slew of fatwas in response. So, if "terrorists" truely have hyjacked Islam as the ignorant white non-muslim tv anchors have said, then the immediate result of 911 or any terror act would be a slew of fatwas, many of which, would actually demand the murder of the terrorists themselves.

Where were the Fatwas? After 911 Colin Powell went on a mission to get some...and got none.

Can any skeptics with a sense of humor help me out? I remember seeing a humorous test of relion one time; one of the questions was "Which historical figure do I most closely resemble?" It then proceeds to describe the day in the life of this guy who acts like a real a$$hole -- he injects dogs at the local animal shelter with some sort of chemical that makes them go crazy and drown themselves in the river, he burns down his neighbor's orange grove because what he really wanted to eat was an apple, etc. Then the four possible answers to choose from were: Adolf Hitler, Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, or Jesus.....

Anyone know where I could find a copy of that test online?

Do not take an oath, with the intention of deceiving the other party. You have been guided onto the path of righteousness; and this would cause your foot to stumble. Moreover, you would commit the evil of blocking God's path to others--and for that you would incur a grievous punishment.

-Qur'an, An-Nahl, Surah 16:94

christians are a lot nicer than atheists? atheists r mean and they say that christians shove their beliefs down our throats.. when really they're not... although i don't believe in god, christians tend to be kinder about it. while atheists r always saying that god is imaginary and they make fun of christians so much.... so answer my first question...

and i have one more question...

give me SOURCES on why you believe in god, christians.

give me SOURCES on why you don't believe in god, atheists.

i want to see who has the most proof, christians or atheists.

I think that the only way the US can show the muslims that we won't take any more terrorist crap from them is to drop the bomb on Mecca when they're all walking around it like robot nutcases. Then they'll understand that we christians will never worship their stinking worthless god Allah!! Do you agree?

His teachings, his life, and even his death exude pacifism. Why is it that the same people that claim to follow him, claim a "right" to "defend" themselves through acts of violence and war?
