If he did what he was destined to do how did he err? Kind of warped thinking no?

Judas did not have a heart for God.

He had an intimate understanding and knowledge, but his heart was not on God.

His heart was on money. Even during Jesus ministry, Judas was more concerned about their finances and such.

He even told Jesus that Mary M. shouldnt be annointing his feet with such expensive perfumed oil, as they could sell it and have more money in their treasury.

Was he repentant. No. He was very sorrowful for the pain he caused his meal ticket ( he viewed Jesus as his employer). He was sorrowful that his employment was over. He wanted to give the silver back so he could get his life back to how it was before he did this evil deed.

He did not however, see the error of what he had done over and above how it had negatively affected himself.

The bible states that there is a very special place reserved for Judas and it doesnt sound pleasent.

For centuries theologians and philosophers have debated the question of just how much freedom we have—so I doubt if I can solve it in just a few paragraphs!

Nevertheless, the Bible makes it clear that Judas was entirely responsible for the decision he made to betray Jesus. It was a deliberate act on his part; it wasn't done in a sudden burst of anger or a fit of uncontrolled rage. He sought out those who were opposed to Jesus and offered to reveal where He could be found. Once they paid him, Judas "watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present" (Luke 22:6).

At the same time, God knew what Judas would do, and in ways we can't fully understand, God directed Judas' path. Many centuries before, the prophet Zechariah had predicted the Messiah would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (see Zechariah 11:12-13). Now, in God's providence, that prophecy was fulfilled by Judas' treachery.

The story of Judas is one of the most tragic in Scripture. He had been with the Lord almost since the beginning of His ministry; he had seen Jesus perform miracles and heard His teaching. And yet in his heart, he was not a believer. May this not be true of you or of anyone reading this column. Instead, make sure of your salvation by humbly turning in faith to Christ.

Judas was sorry for his betrayal of Christ, but he was not truly repentant from the heart. Psalm 51:17 Talks about contrite heart. In order for God to hear you must repent from your heart. Ezekiel 9 deals with holiness and talks about repentance. Judas, I believe went to heaven because God is a forgiving God.

When Judas realized what he done, he went back to the Pharasees and repented, rather than turning to God.

The pain of what he commited, did not drive him to proper repentance, it drove him to suicide after the Pharasees refuse to take back the money.

Mat 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
Mat 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

No, he did not repent.

Only God knows where Judas will spend eternity.

The bible doesn't say he repented, had he , than he wouldn't have killed himself. I think he went to hell, but only God can say for sure.

That is only known between Judas Iscariot and the Lord. Judgment Day has not come yet. The only one that is under judgment to death thus far is Satan. We have no way of knowing if Judas repented in his heart before his death.
