I don't think so and here's why; The word "Devil" comes from the word "Diablo".
When Batman's nemesis "the Joker" created an evil plan, it was often called "diabolical".
I don't see Tom Cruise as trying to trick anyone into anything. Tom, if anything, is a victim and not an instigator. Personally, I feel sorry for the guy.

after being on this planet and interacting with innumerable humans, i've decided i must be an alien, for a number of reasons. but i am certainly not in any way connected to tom cruise or the devil.. i would however like to be somewhat connected to katie holmes for an evening, though. :-)
