Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

Angels and Demons? The Great Spirit and lesser Spirits? The One, Mother Earth, Brahma, Vishnu, Goddess Laxmi. Depending on the religion and culture etc etc

Please forgive me if in my ignorance I have offended you. It was not my intention what-so-ever. I am forever trying to learn from those wiser than I. I have a lot of learning to do.

Please read the article...

The notion that morality bars the use of plastic sheaves to protect against killer diseases is one of the most simplistic and idiotic notions ever conceived. But to fund Christian idiocy with US taxpayer funds is raising the ridiculous to even greater heights than have ever been seen by our species.

If Darwin's concept of natural selection is correct, and there is no reason to doubt that it is, then we really do not have very long on this planet. No species can survive that openly advocates the spread of disease as do a couple of billion Xians. For proof, in just one year of no condoms in Uganda, the number of AIDs cases nearly doubled.

Question...if priests changed their cloaks to rubber would that help change Catholic doctrine?

& Moreover, why does the story of Adam & Eve make it sound like an accident- like it was OUR free will that caused "evil". God is supposedly all knowing therefore wouldn't he realize that giving somebody free will would eventually lead to sin? In a way it's like asking if he knows the future- & if he doesn't- is he really qualified enough to have the amount of control that we designate him?

A lot of the questions and answers seem to be very aggressive and of no use what so ever, and when someone answers a perfectly innocuous question that has nothing to do with religion with something along the lines of "Jesus will save you" and then quote some Bible chapter numbers, I just get bored and wish they'd keep their religion to themselves, reading the Bible won't help someone sort out legalities of a messy divorce or offer sensible advice on how to fix your car.

Maybe there should be a separate Answers site for religious debate, I'm not interested in such questions and I'm sure the religious people don't appreciate all the moronic answers they get to their questions about their religion either.
Not to mention all the Muslim-bashing that goes on here, that really isn't of any help to anyone.

Officially I'm Free Church of Scotland, but I don't believe in any of it.

The requests came from church members and visitors alike: Would he please announce a rally against gay marriage during services? Would he introduce a politician from the pulpit? Could members set up a table in the lobby promoting their anti-abortion work? Would the church distribute “voters’ guides” that all but endorsed Republican candidates? And with the country at war, please couldn’t the church hang an American flag in the sanctuary?

After refusing each time, Mr. Boyd finally became fed up, he said. Before the last presidential election, he preached six sermons called “The Cross and the Sword” in which he said the church should steer clear of politics, give up moralizing on sexual issues, stop claiming the United States as a “Christian nation” and stop glorifying American military campaigns.

Has anyone out there ever seen the church take a stand against Viagra, Cialis or any of the male sexual enhancement therapies?

The fundies have succeeded in blocking the FDA from releasing both the abortion pill and the morning after pill. The church is opposed to contraception and abortions. The fundies have succeeded in blocking a vaccine for young girls that will stop them from developing cervical cancer later in their lives because the fundies believe it will encourage sexual intercourse. Under the Bush Administration, they have reinstituted the Global Gag Rule that keeps NGOs from planned parenthood activities around the world and the NYT's reported resulted in over 70,000 deaths of women each year from lack of reproductive medical care.

Why have I not heard anything about the FDA releasing male sexual enhancement therapies being protested or blocked for supporting illicit sexual intercourse activities?

I have spent the morning reading the atheist blogs about " the evils of religion and especially Christianity ". I wonder...do you feel the underlying evil intent behind the spirits ( not the people ) that are speaking this philosophy thru them ? Do you see what the ACLU is doing for years now ? Slowly and methodically voting us off the planet ? Do you give money and prayers to the Christian legal organizations that maintain a vigilant legal presence on our behalf in govt ? If not....then you should....Im telling you...there is an evil undertow that seeks to slowly poison society and govt against us and eventually make us illegal. After that..what next ? Prison and property confiscation ? . Our Lord tells us to tolerate the people but to be ever vigilant about our freedoms as we love those who undermine us. Are you doing this ?

Their shared homophobia!!!

As relations between Palestinian and Israeli politicians disintegrate, religious officials from the Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities united to oppose the event.

Over 50 prominent religious figures visited the Knesset's Interior Committee to campaign against the World Pride...

Gay-rights groups, including the Jerusalem Open House and the Coalition for Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian, and Transgender Rights described the faction as "dangerous" and "ugly."

Sol Lev, A gay rights activist promoting the event said: "We will have our event, and our rights as human beings will not be trampled,"

"Their speech, what these people are saying, is a hate crime."

During the fraught meeting, religious figures urged World Pride to consider moving the parade to another city or canceling it altogether.

"I promise there's going to be bloodshed - not just on that day, but for months afterward," declared New York Rabbi Yehuda

Ok I am being serious. Lucifer doesnt want to worship GOD all day and all night. He thinks its stupid and gets kicked out of heaven. Was that really fair to him? Is it fair to us to force us to worship or love GOD or else we will condemed to burn forever. Why was it that half the angles agreed with Lucifer, could there be some common sense thing that they understood. Can God be considered fair when he is doing things like this? Can it be possible that lucifer is being portrayed as a bad guy but is really a true hero and revolutionary to his people. Because who wrote the bible? God did? So we are only getting one side of the story and its probably very bias. Anyways I cant find the story of this angel rebellion in the bible and I dont even know where I heard it from. Where can I find the story? unbias if possible.
