Quick note... its not just Atheists who are discussing the evils of religion... its anyone who has any knowledge about what religion is, how it spread, and who runs them... God isn't at the head of Christian religions. Individual men are in charge, such as the Pope. I don't know about the Pope currently in Charge, but look to the ones of the past and just try to tell me that you don't think they were wrong in nearly everything they did, such as starting wars, damning people just because they didn't agree with the Pope's views, etc. After learning about all that and realizing that most wars are started based on religious stands or escalate because of them and honestly tell me that you think Religion is a good thing. Its not a good thing.
As for as the evil intent... I dunno. I figured that Atheists were just trying to rid the country of more factors that will seperate the individuals. I mean, the USA is not at all united... different cultures to seperate people, different political views, individual state pride, etc... when do you ever see Americans all pull together other than 9/11? Most nations all pull together for their nation at the World Cup or Olypmics... Americans go for wherever their families came from. The Athiests are just trying to get rid of the religion in Govt and Public facitilies to keep things from being so biased and seperate. I mean, all the prayers and such in public buildings come from Christian religions, how about the thousands of other religions in the US? All those people are being neglected... so why not neglect every religion so they can all be treated equally by the system? It makes sense to me.
God is good, religion which was made by power hungry men is bad. Simple. Oh, and I'm not an Atheist.
Sorry, guess it wasn't so short as I had originally intended.

Separation of church and state... it's not just for atheists anymore!
It's not just freedom OF religion, it's also freedom FROM religion:
Forcing people to accept some particular idea or adhere to behavioral standards from someone else’s religion means that their religious freedom is being infringed upon.
Freedom from religion does not mean, as some mistakenly seem to claim, being free from seeing religion in society. No one has the right not to see churches, religious expression, and other examples of religious belief in our nation — and those who advocate freedom of religion do not claim otherwise.
What freedom from religion does mean, however, is the freedom from the rules and dogmas of other people’s religious beliefs so that we can be free to follow the demands of our own conscience, whether they take a religious form or not. Thus, we have both freedom of religion and freedom from religion because they are two sides of the same coin.
Interestingly, the misunderstandings here can be found in many other myths, misconceptions and misunderstandings as well. Many people don’t realize — or don’t care — that real religious liberty must exist for everyone, not just for themselves. It’s no coincidence that people who object to the principle of “freedom from religion” are adherents of religious groups whose doctrines or standards would be the ones enforced by the state.
Since they already voluntarily accept these doctrines or standards, they don’t expect to experience any conflicts with state enforcement or endorsement. What we have, then, is a failure of moral imagination: these people are unable to really imagine themselves in the shoes of religious minorities who don’t voluntarily accept these doctrines or standards and, hence, experience an infringement on their religious liberties through state enforcement or endorsement.
That, or they simply don’t care what religious minorities experience because they think they have the One True Religion.

i could say that the guy penning this has in no way talked to a representative pattern of atheists. It starts with an fact that's not supported with the aid of evidence, the two actual existence archives or logical proofs. This fact is observed with the aid of yet another keeping that that's "impossible to thoroughly..." that's clearly untrue. Granted adult men have been making up gods for the final 30,000 years, yet this would not propose that guy "needs" an more suitable ability to regulate. i've got in no way heard an atheists say that the established rationalization for not believing in a god replaced into the human beings that have faith interior the god. the established motives manage loss of evidence that any god exists and that "holy books" are crammed with contradictions, errors and are additionally not supported with the aid of evidence. In conflict and politics, one might desire to correctly known their enemy, yet that's a classical christian "rant" approximately atheists that shows they have no clue in any know approximately atheists. Edit: My theory is many christians, like this one, are extra desirable than happy to have faith what they're taught with the aid of the church rather than verifying that that's actual, to that end it applies to atheists. that's classical christian "expertise" approximately atheists yet has no beginning rather - it rather is such as assuming/coaching that atheists are an prepared faith and function an schedule.

there is no plot against xians.
FACT - the ACLU defends XIANS, too - street preachers told they can't preach on public streets, the ACLU was there and defended the preachers. ditto religious groups using public property like parks for baptism. ditto the high school student in Michigan that was not allowed to use a bible (pronounced buy-bull) quote in her yearbook. the ACLU sued and the courts made the school apologize in writing and correct all archive copies they had. the ACLU even sided with Jerry Falwell when Virginia tried to limit the amount of property his church could own.
many xians cry oppression when they aren't allowed legislate their beliefs and force them on others.
AND many of them tell bold faced lies about groups like the ACLU, and don't even care enough to research the matter for themselves. they just parrot what they hear other uninformed xians say.
the only thing poisoning society against xians is... XIANS. this is America, land of the free. our Consitution protects the minorities from the tyranny of the majority. if you don't like, the you can move to another country.

"I am treated as evil by people who claim that they are being oppressed because they are not allowed to force me to practice what they do." ~ D. Dale Gulledge
*********************
Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."
By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

Wow. Conspiract Theory #512: Christianity Needs Help To Maintain A Presence in The USA Gov't. Perhaps you need to see Conspiracy Theory #511: The US Is a Christian Government.
I would like to know why so many people go way out of their way to show how they or people of their cause are martyrs, up to and including flat out lying, like in this question. What's the point?

There are many that would do us harm, but we also harm ourselves. Christians and other religions and atheist have been persecuted for uncountable years. It seems to cycle. The cycle seems to have slowed, of course, Rwanda was effectively ethnically cleansed.

Yes I read the Atheists words and know the underlying words. I know what will eventually happen. Revelation 7:14 will tell you of the great tribulation. This is not the same as the early church. We as Christians are slowly heading in that direction.
