I ask the priest and he cannot give me an explanation - he is just speechless each time I ask him about all this.

Maybe I am just allergic?

Thx for your help.

One of the books I was reading was about the philosophy of authentic and inauthentic life. Specifically it was about the movie the Matrix and about how those who are plugged in are not living authentic lifes. But it relates to the real world in that there are people who choose as a defense mechanism a fictional reality to deal with pain, and in doing so they are living an inauthentic life not dealing with the real root cause of the pain.

So, to Christians, do you think you are living an authentic life (obviously the answer to this is yes because you still live it). Based on that, do you feel that non-Christians are living INAUTHENTIC lifes, that is, those of us who are non-Chrsitian are living an inauthentic life, that we created for ourselves, and if we did this, why do you think we did that?

Were they possibly put here to entertain us, or is there a natural surplus of blood generated by humans that requires draining on a regular basis?

Could it possibly be that people living in third world poverty need the maleria etc?

If I was Tony Blair, I'd organise a 'channel tunnel equivilent' amount of funding to scientifically determine their place / role in the food chain, and if results indicated that they are surplus to requirements, then I'd get a genetic genius like Prof Steve Jones to genetically engineer their pestering a s s out of existance. Does this sound like a plan?

No cut & paste answers please. I'll award 10 points to anyone who can offer a real, or amusing comment.

It seems to me that maybe in order to fulfill some of the teachings of Christ, in light of Revelation, that some type of "rapture" is necessary or essential. I think this particularly in regards to the teaching that some in this generation will not experience the "first death."

Yet, a "new heaven" and "new earth" will be created, and the old one will pass, and the cataclysmic events of depicted in Revelation make it seem that the earth for a time will be uninhabital.

This makes me think that in order for the two Biblical references to "new earth/heaven" and "some in this generation will not taste death, not even the first death" that the Rapture concept/theory or belief is more credible than many might give it.

What do you think? Is there any other possibilily that you can think that could allow a destruction of the earth and survivial of certain persons (whether before or after the rising of the dead)?.

And what's your answer to the question?

I was just briefly reading something that mentioned that Allah( Muslim God) can not return until the world is cleansed of all infidels. Is this true? It is similar to what I believe as a Christian but the difference is that Jesus is returning with or without the conversion of souls to Christ.(althought he would love for all to spend eternity with him) I am not debating which is right or which is not. This is not a DEBATE or an Argument! I am curious and would like to know from those who practice the islamic belief. Thanks!

I understand a belief in a higher power no matter what you name it, it kind of makes sense and is comforting for a lot of people. If that's how you want to explain things I disagree but can't tell you you're wrong. So, let's be reasonable with each other. No matter what deity you believe in, the religion that surrounds it is man made. Maybe you believe it was inspired or directly started by your deity or spiritual leader. If that is true than it was stil VERY long ago in human terms. So knowing man is not perfect and is in fact very corruptible we have to assume over many of years these religions have become less perfect through being controlled by man. So what I'm asking is if you're going to put "faith" in something why not do it how you have interpreted it yourself and how you think is how it should be. Not just conforming to a set of texts that obviously contradict common sense.

I was taught as a child that Amish people don't use electricity. I've learned in my adult life that many of the things my parents taught me as a child were wrong. Not that I was brainwashed, just that my parents might not have had all the facts.

So if you are reading this and you are Amish, are you using electricity. If so, is this permissible?

I sometimes see Amish people at McDonalds. McDonalds uses electricity, so indirectly the Amish person(s) are eating food that was prepared using electricity.

Was there ever a time in American history were Amish choose not to use electricity, and if so, has this been reversed? Are there still pockets of Amish that do not allow the use of electricity.

Thanks.

The new testament is comprised of many quotes from the old testament. The following quote tells us what Jesus thinks.
Mth 5:17. Think not that I AM COME NOT TO DESTROY THE LAW OR THE PROPHETS: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

When my son was a baby, I was in a local Drugstore picking up his prescription for antibiotics because he was sick and I started talking to the girl behind the counter who (Assumed by appearance alone I did not ask) that she was either middle eastern or Indian. Well, she was very nice and friendly and kind and right before I left. She took a pen and put three dots on my son's arm like a little triangle and then said a prayer to "Bless" him as she said. She also said "This is a blessing in my country and your son will always be protected." What does this mean? From this, can anyone tell me what the blessing is/means and what culture/religion/country it is from?

P.S. Yes I did get angry and I did say something, it but it happened so fast... I couldn't stop her. This happened 7 years ago almost and he does seem to be a "blessed" child!

Countless miracles have been ascribed to this image & it was declared the patron saint of Cuba & crowned by the late Pope John Paul II in 1998. People worship this image & reject the christian message.
To me, the image is ugly & she frowns condemningly. Of course, I never worship images. Or pray to some other god. I go to the Father through Jesus Christ atonement.
I believe it is one of the Pope's deeds that got burned when tested by the fire.

What do you think Jesus said to Pope John Paul II about this when He went to heaven?

Please answer both questions.

Why cant you just leave everyone alone and let them believe what they want to believe or not believe? I think everyone has the right to believe in what ever they want to. It shouldnt matter if you r christian, athiest, catholic, muslim, agnostic, just to name a few. Stop insulting everyone. No one is a retard for what they believe, if they r not hurting you, then why hurt them with hurtful words? You may say they r hurting you by them telling you that you should believe in this or that, but they r not. They r just stating what they know as facts, what they have been taught. You have a choice not to listen or read what they have to say. Just walk away. No since in being rude and putting people down.

I just get so sick of seeing people be mean to eachother. We r who we r. If you dont like it, tough.

Why, when asked for a proof of God, does every religious person respond with "give me a proof that God doesn't exist" or "you can't prove he doesn't exist"?

Why do any of us need to disprove a belief in something imaginary given without any physical evidence? The burden of the proof is on those claiming fantastical fictional fallacies.

Does Santa Clause exist, just because you can't prove he doesn't?

Seriously, what do you gain if by preaching your faith in no God (which is faith because you cannot prove a negative, it is simply your belief) causes a person to lose their faith in God?

People who do preach their faith in God do so because they believe there are dire consequences for eternity if you do not believe so they are concerned about your well-being in preaching to you (there are people who preach for prideful reasons just to show they are right and that is not the right motivation to do so).

But I do not understand the motivation behind preaching that there is no God.
