It seems to me that maybe in order to fulfill some of the teachings of Christ, in light of Revelation, that some type of "rapture" is necessary or essential. I think this particularly in regards to the teaching that some in this generation will not experience the "first death."
Yet, a "new heaven" and "new earth" will be created, and the old one will pass, and the cataclysmic events of depicted in Revelation make it seem that the earth for a time will be uninhabital.
This makes me think that in order for the two Biblical references to "new earth/heaven" and "some in this generation will not taste death, not even the first death" that the Rapture concept/theory or belief is more credible than many might give it.
What do you think? Is there any other possibilily that you can think that could allow a destruction of the earth and survivial of certain persons (whether before or after the rising of the dead)?.
And what's your answer to the question?

The rapture is not essential Christian doctrine. Whether you believe it or not has no effect on whether you have eternal life or not.
This scripture says that the first who are gathered up are thrown into the fire to be burned because the tares are gathered first and not the wheat.
The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Yep, if you read Revelation 20 you will find that when Jesus comes that those that are alive as well as the dead in Christ, will be taken to Heaven, then we will be in Heaven for a thousand years, not here on this Earth in peace. Only ones here will be those that are dead and Satan and his angels. There will be a thousand years of peace here but only because all life will have ended and nobody for Satan to tempt. Then at the end of the thousand years, the new Jerusalem will be brought to this Earth and set down and that is when the wicked dead will rise again, the second ressurection. They will try to take the city but will be rained down on with fire and be burned up, made into ashes, die. Then will be the new creation that we will witness and all will be made anew and no more death or sorrow or suffering. Nope, not other answer possible as what is written in the bible is what is going to be.

The Rapture portrayed by the world is not Biblical. I do beleive we will be taken from this world, but it cannot be a secret.
I have included several Bible texts regarding the coming of Jesus. and other supporting texts. I encourage you to read tehm in context when you get a chance.
See Quote from Revelation for where we will be when the earth is destroyed.
You are very astute regarding the first death, but I notice you did not mention the second death???? That is the one we do not want to be a part of.
1 Thes. 4: 13. But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16. FOR THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A SHOUT, WITH THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL, AND WITH THE TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Doesn't sound very quiet and secretive to me. Check out the following verse:
Rev.1:7. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
REV 20:4. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and THEY LIVED AND REIGNED WITH CHRIST A THOUSAND YEARS.
5. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Lots of info in the Bible. It has to all come together. If we say one part is wrong then we cannot trust any of it.

The verse that I have seen that supports a "Rapture" of Christians sound to me like it's at the end, or the Glorious Appearing. So I wouldn't count on being taken out before all the suffering if Jesus doesn't "tarry" but comes soon(amen so be it!)
He could but I wouldn't tell Him what to do. I just make requests.

a perfect world will reside a 1000 years on earth after the rapture - the world ends after that.

There will be no rapture!. True Xtians no that there is no such thing. Why do you people continue to believe in this 17th century heresy that has no basis in biblical teaching?
