Isa: 66:17. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.

It is comparing the eating of pork to eating rodents. Whould you eat a mouse?

the cow has a parted hoof and chews the cud. You got it backwards.

Nope, sure wouldn't. Don't eat any of the unclean things. Have to tell you that Hebrews 10:4 says, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Now where in that do you see anything about abolishing any of the Old Testament laws? What is the law for Righteousness? Does that mean that since the Ten Commandments are in the Old Testament that it is no longer wrong to steal, to kill, to comitt adultery or to have other gods and worship them? That is some of the Old Testament laws that one is saying has been abolished by this statement. If you read on after this statement, you find what it is really talking about so read on through verse 11 and you will find that many had a false righeousness that they were better than others and did not have to follow the rules but it says here that with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation and that whoever believes on Him will notbe put to shame. When the laws of Leviticus were given to the Hebrews, there was no Jew. There was not a Jew until the land was divided up and then the Jews were actually come from the tribe of Judah. If you look at the time of the flood, where were any Jews? None around but Noah knew the difference between clean and unclean animals. Do you think that just because it is from the Old Testament, it is no good in the New Testament? Why then did none of the Apostles ever eat anything that was unclean? They knew the difference and yet never ate the pig or anything else that was considered unclean. One argument is the VISION of Peter that had him supposedly eating the unclean things that was in the sheet but how do you eat a vision? If you read on you find it was Cornelius that was not to be considered unlean, a Gentile that was thought by the Hebrew nation to be very unclean and was not to even touch or talk with. Then Peter said very plainly that God showed him that he should not call any MAN common or unclean, not any animal. Just read the text and you will see it. One last point, did you know that over75% of the New Testament is just quotes from the Old Testament. Check it out for yourself, those that disagree. So to say the Old Testament was not valid any more is plain nonsense as the whole bible will tell you. So the one that said the Old Testament is not to be followed is showing her ignorance of truth. Why would God give laws of good health and then later make it ok to eat those things that are not good for you? Good health is good health and some things are just not meant to be eaten.

Before modern cooking methods pork wasn't necessarily safe to eat. Uncooked pork can contain the roundworm Trichinella spiralis which can cause Trichinosis in humans. It is from consuming this parasite in improperly cooked meat that it is passed on - swine are omnivores and will scavenge carcases and in some cases were fed meat scraps, where they obtain the parasite. Other animals, such as rodents, and any carnivore, can become infected and pass it along as well. Now if groups of people can correlate becoming ill with eating certain meats it can follow they could assume that animal shouldn't be eaten. Therefore "unclean" animals. So the restriction on pork actually has a fairly valid reason.

Want me to tell you something.Pigs are filthy animals but the cleanest outside.Pigs do not sweat, that is why it is so salty. You are eating thier excrements.Food for thought. And you wonder why people who eat pork always end up having heart problems and high blood pressure.I am a hanif-muslim, so I do not eat pork. But jews and christians are not supposed to eat pork either.I read the bible once and I don't remember the name of the book it was in.It was like the 3rd book of the old testament that started with D(Duert...).It was where Moses(pbuh) explained what is koshur and what is not.

OT Mosaic law for Jews only. That law was done away with at the cross.Jewish dietary laws are not for today. Read Peters account in Acts-all meat was cleaned.

Since I'm not a Jew, and I don't call anything "unclean" that He has made. I eat pork because its sweet and we got a guy locally who can barbeque it so good it would make you want to slap your mama.

I eat pork on occassion because it tastes good.

The principle is to eat healthfully in order for your body to be in the best condition so you can serve God in the best possible way for the longest period of time.

Do you consume high fructose corn syrup, mono and diglycerides, unfiltered water, GMO fruits and vegetables, shrimp, crab...the list goes on...?

I have eaten a mouse... not very good... The dietary Law was made void by Christ. As long as it is properly cooked pork is delicious.... I prefer it cured however.
