Life is about expanding our minds and our grasp of life while embracing love through connecting with others. That's why there is no room for hatred, bigotry, deceit, greed, selfishness, etc. That is not our purpose of our existence. We're here to be the best humans we can be, and when we act in this capacity, we experience true joy. We need to feel fulfilled.
Doing nothing with your life, not making the effort to grow as a person, accepting less of yourself -- these should not be options. It's truly a shame so many wait until something tragic happens or until their senior years before they wake up and realize what's truly important.
And it's not finishing school, get a car, graduate college, get married, get a house, have kids, slave away at a job, grow old, then die.
We only have one life to live as we know it ... even if you believe in reincarnation, right here, right now is the only existence you know. Which is why, in this lifetime, it is imperative you be the best person you can possibly be, do it right, make it right, as much as possible.
But that's me.
I think a lot of people have it wrong, thinking that since they only have one life to live, they get in this "I'll do anything that feels good" attitude, regardless of consequence to themselves and everything that is around them.
"JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD."

There are several ingredients making up that grand illusion.
We start with a dollop of horror from the realization we are mortal.
Add a large dose of narcissism and stir frantically.
Half-bake this melange in the part of the mind furthest away from reason for at least the first 12 years of your life.
Voila! You can now say "I must have been put on this earth for a reason. I am part of a large plan!"
In the meantime the universe goes on its indifferent way, whether you live past your utterance or not.

if we don't seek purpose, then we might as well kill ourselves> We need to know "why we are here". I believe that asking God (our creator) is the only way that we can find our purpose. It would be hard to live w/out purpose.

Well, humans need goals, for some reason we don't work very well without them. I suppose it just depends on the goal.. mine is just to live the best life possible with what I'm given and can earn..and to make sure those around me have what they need. I don't need any other purpose than that.

Becasue if there is no reason to be here, how continue to struggle through life. Just end it becasue it does not matter anyway.
People who believe their lives have meaning, think they are doing something worthwhile, and important (however small) and they are generally more content in their lives.

You spoke back it your self - a brilliant sort of human beings are unhappy because of fact it is not our purpose to look for our very own happiness. it is the pursuit of happiness that has generated extra misery than the rest in this worldwide.

We need to know the reason we are here.
There is a need to leave part of yourself behind.
That you should not be forgotten.
That is why people have buildings named after themselves. Libraries, hospitals Cemeteries, head stones.
Some write poetry, paint, sculpt,
write novels, history.
That we should not be forgotten.
To confirm, to make permanent.
That we should be remembered.
