Tolerance is a vatue that religion must advocate among its folowers.unfortunately, the world as it stands today, gives me the imression that religion has failed to create peace through tolerance.Which religion has more tolerance practices in its doctrine and practices?

Surely God made sin. He made man, and when he made man he made man ABLE to sin. He made murderers, paedophiles, rapists, thieves.

He made volcanos, he made plates on the earth that can move to create tsunamis.

He gave man the ability to make aeroplanes that could be flown into towers. He gave us the power to burn fuel that would pollute the planet.

God made human cells. He made them so that they are able to mutate into cancer.

God made viruses and bacteria. He made AIDS. He made the world so that we could harness nuclear power and with that nuclear bombs.

I do not claim to know whether God exists - that is not provable either way. I just know that if he does he's certainly not someone I'd want to be associated with.

Cue the fundie americans...

Think about it. Most of the major conflicts in out history have been brought on by religion. Puritans broke away from England because of religious beliefs and that led to the Revolutionary War. World War 2 was largely affected by religion as Hitler's Schutzstaffel exterminated millions of Jews. Recent wars have religious influences with Arabs waging holy wars against each other, as well as other countries. Before all of you uber religious people out there start bashing me for creating this topic, consider this: If you were to meet me in real life and I showed you a cup of water, and I said "If I drink this water, I will become invisible." You would want as much proof that I would indeed become invisible as an aethiest would, right? So why is it so easy for you to believe in scriptures that are thousands of years old which have no validity and may or may not have been influenced by a man who performed miracles that would make David Blaine look like an amateur?

Some of the people ranting on here about killing all muslim in the middle east, etc etc are basically fascists. One of them said in an answer I just read that Israel is right to bomb orphanages in Lebanon because the children MIGHT grow up to be members of Hizbollah.

Do you really want to continue to associate yourselves with these sickos?

Muslims on Yahoo! Answers are very conspicuous in denouncing the Islamic terrorists and Islamic fundamentalists and yet seem to be constantly accused of being terrorists anyway.

Should the christians be a little more vociferous in denouncing the extremists in their midst (who I am getting the increasingly strong impression are a majority on Yahoo! Answers)?

And for infomation: I am NOT a muslim

A woman wrote this on Yahoo earlier:

"I would rather see a fetus be aborted than a child be tortured, murdered or condemned to to a life of poverty, abuse, non committed parents and resentment."

Does that mean that a child that has been through this would agree that they would have rather just been aborted? All of them?

Who should be authorized to determine what level A.) poverty, B.) ability of parents, C.) abuse, and D.) torture a child MIGHT endure in order to allow an abortion?

I mean if just ONE SINGLE American fetus is aborted due to "Poverty" in the family, wouldn't that mean that MOST fetuses form poor, 3rd world countries should be aborted?

What about rich people that have worked their asses off from extreme poverty? Should they have been aborted too? What about John McCain? Even though he was not a child, he endured a hell of alot of torture. Should we have aborted him if we knew ahead of time what he would go through?

Theres many more Qs but not enuff room

I just purchased his book, "The Power of Intention". I haven't found the time to completely read through it yet, but found his concept of "silent knowing". It's an amazing concept and one that I can completely identify with because throughout my life I have just known things that were never taught to me.

Has anyone else out there experienced spiritual enlightenment and awaking from reading his philosophies?

I understand the idea of free-will, but this would imply that satan or humans thought or created something that God was incapable of because of his perfectly true nature.

And presumably all of humankind?

Where would they have lived? The planet's getting a bit crowded already, imagine if nobody had ever died! Ever... where would everyone live? Or did god just overlook that?

When one of the commandments is "thou shalt not kill"
Even if you change the word 'kill' to 'murder', How can it ever be justified to kill innocent children even if they are considered the 'enemy' can babies possibly ever be an 'enemy'?
And how do you feel that abortion is not only not meantioned in the bible, but is not 'murder' under law and never really was?
It seems you can justify more baby slaughter with the bible than anything.

I mean they generalize us because of a few that chose the dum way out. Since coming to light I have never loved my fellow man like I do now. Islam has taught me a great deal of how not to discriminate and love my fellow man. BUt when you listen to the answers that the people here think of muslims they speak of what they do not know and what they feed off of from the media. If we were to say that christianity is a cult of murderers because of David Keresh or Jim Jones we would be wrong. Just watch some idiots arent even going to read all of this and show his or her ignorance. peace and blessings be upon you all

How can the KKK be Christian? The Bible says to love they neighbor as thyself. So, if that's the case..they must burn crosses in their own front yards and hang and persecute their own families.
Come on, that's nonsense....everything the KKK believe is totally against God.
God made all men equal. What Bible are they reading?
