any time you take God's name in vain it is a sin. There is no difference if you write it down or not its still a sin . If you say it or write it , its what comes from the heart

Depends on what you mean when you say "cuss."

Cussing or cursing generally covers a broad area, including what is called "blasphemy" which is language that uses the names of God, Jesus, Mary, or other Biblical figures to express disgust, condemnation, anger, etc. This type of language is what seems to be most objectionable in the Scriptures.

Another type of "cussing" involves vulgarity or crude sexual or excretory ("bathroom") terminology. Scripture does not really mention this sort of talk.

You asked for a Christian perspective on cussing, so I would say that probably speaking, thinking, writing, typing or spelling a blasphemous, vulgar or condemning word would amount to the same thing. Christianity teaches that hateful thoughts are akin to murder. As well, Christianity is not really a religion of "technicalities"; that is, you cannot evade sin by euphemism or other means because it is the intent or spirit that counts, not just the deed.

Even further, Jesus says it's even wrong to call someone "stupid" / "Fool" or "raca" which some scholars have suggested means "weak" or "effeminate."

Bottom line is that words do hurt and from a Christan perspective, it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. Or, to put it in other terms, sometimes it is from the emptiness of the heart that the mouth speaks objectionable language that hurts others.

I would say yes but that does not mean you are condemned to hell.
that is the great thing about GOD, we are saved by faith forgiven by grace. when we get angry for no reason that is a sin, when we think badly of someone that is a sin. see where I am going, try to not think about what is a sin but rather how can you live your life in a way that is productive and pleases the LORD.
God Bless

Cursing is not a sin. It is an arbitrary, socially constucted taboo that changes through time and place. Bugger is considered a taboo word in England, but not in America. Humbug is a time-related example. It used to be taboo, but now its simply quaint.

The concept of taking the Lord's name in vain refered originally to saying the name Yahweh ... ever. Only the high priest was ever allowed to speak His name, and he only once a year.

This rule turned into the swearing of oaths -- it is a sin to invoke the name of God in an oath, when your oath is a lie.

Cursing turned into Cussing.
Cursing is not cussing.
Cussing include's word's that don't draw a very nice picture in your mind, even though GOD Created that stuff.
With a Pure Mind, half of Cussing wouldn't bother you.
With a Pure Mind, you could still Curse.

My general philosophy about sin is:
if u feel guilt about it, then its a sin

Thats why God gave us a conscience, to tell us when we are sinning. Hope that helps :)
