Some ppl (like Dante) say that after Jesus was crucified, He went to Hell and suffered. But I don't see in the Gospels anything about that. What do you think??

Chapter one mentions that god created everything first and then created man; however chapter two says god created man first and then everything else.
How can both chapters be true?

I just watched the Passion of the Christ for the first time [yeah I'm slow] and couldn't understand why any god would allow their son to endure so much pain. I cried so hard, and I don't cry very often. Jesus was a respectful man and very humane, so why would his father kill him ? Why would god make such a beautiful creation and then destroy it ? Watching that movie and thinking for a little bit led me to believe even more that there is no god. Would you allow people to kill you children for their beliefs ? I know I couldn't.

People will claim that the fetus is "not human" or "not alive" or "only part of the woman's body", but why then is it considered a double murder if a pregnant woman gets murdered even if that woman had planned on getting an abortion?

I always get a lot of crazy irrational answers whenever I ask a question about abortion. I don't expect this will be any different. I think it's because a lot of people give an emotional answer without giving it any thought.

I had a friend who stopped talking to me because I used the phrase,"God dammit." She was on the quest of finding the "True Faith" and always had these boring gatherings where women would discuss if it was proper to watch "R" rated movies and if they should hold with the Bible say that women should wear female clothing (aka dresses). Isn't there more to life than praying and popping out boring sh*ts like you?

I have never been to a fortune teller, but I have heard that sometimes they are able to see the future. Would you spend the money? How can you tell if they are faking it?

I'd like to thank those of you who answered my last question thoughtfully and respectfully, whichever side you argued for. I also want to clarify and ask again. I did not mean that I have a problem with you praying for me. That's fine. It's something personal for you, and you should do as you see fit. I apologize for the confusion. It's the statement itself, directed at me, when the person knows I'm an atheist and could be offended by it. "I'll pray for you." Let's compare it to someone coming up to a religious person and saying, "God is dead!" or using that in religious discussion. It's not going to detract from the religious person's principles, but it could be annoying and possibly hurtful. I guess I just want to know if that affects opinions or what people think.

Hmm, I need a question. If an atheist makes two posts on Yahoo Answers and attracts a couple hundred Christians to pray for him, would he have a better shot for redemption under the Christian God despite his beliefs?

I had some bad Christian expericenes. I came form a very religious home(my grandfather was a preacher) and I hated it because I felt like religion was shoved down my throat. All my friends are always trying to make me feel like being a agnostic or an atheist is a bad thing. They always try to teel me that if I don't go to church I'm going to hell or come with me to chruch so you can be saved. I never ty to convert my friends to athesim or try to change their mind about their beliefs.I personally believe in what I want to believe. It bothers me when a lot of christains try to advertise their religion a nd try to judge every person who goes aganist what they believe whats right.

I'm sorry for the hostility, but when I ask a question like, "Are any Pagans sick of trendy Wiccan films?" that means that it's directed at anyone who:
1. Is Pagan
2. has seen a trendy Wiccan film
Also, the question is about films and Paganism. So if you answer with "Accept Christ" or something that has NOTHING to do with Paganism OR films, then you need hooked on phonics, or something else that will help you read better. Okay my rant is over now. I hope everyone reading this will understand the whole "question and answer" process better. Blessed be.

Calls for genocide are common in the rightwing blogs (such as Little Green Footballs) which are full of twisted and uglycomments. I've seen some call for resuming research to perfect the neutron bomb, and worse.Genocide has been a US policy for many years, with many of those in power today instrumental in the Central American death squads (John Negroponte, Admiral Poindexter), training secret police in Korea, Iran, Chile and elsewhere; organizing violent repression in Haiti; and the extra-judicial executions of high-ranking political rivals in Angola. There's a longer list, I just don't want to bog down the discussion by mentioning every single one.The "nuke 'em all and let God sort 'em out" philosophy may have started as black humor, but has actually been proposed as US policy for Iraq by Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) "If we have to, we just mow the whole place down, see what happens. You’re dealing with insane suicide bombers who are killing our people, and we need to be very aggressive.

I read an answer on another question that said something about humans still evolving...like people being born now with there big toe and second toe starting to fuse together because we where shoes. Where does this stuff come from? What other things do people say are proof that we are still evolving? Just as a note...I DO NOT believe in evolution!!!!!! I am a Christian and nothing you say can change my views on things, I just want to know more about it. Thanks.
