This behavior has always intrigued me, as well. A woman I used to work with was "All Christian, All the Time". She used to act as if I personally killed Christ myself whenever I cussed (I'm from Brooklyn, I can't help myself). She refused to go to a Christmas party where alcohol would be served. BUT, 2 weeks before Christmas she evicted her tenants who had a three year old and an infant?!?!?!?
I didn't get it and I don't get it now. How could evicting a toddler & an infant in the middle of the winter be something Christ would approve of? She seemed to think that being a good steward of her property made her a good Christian. I thought that it was easier for a camel to pass throught the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. This particular incident really soured me on Christianity, as she was (and is) a well respected member of her church.

Because they aren't Christians... But even if they are, you can't expect people to be perfect, we're all human, and people always expect Christians to be better than everybody else, which we aren't. All we can do is try. The people who don't try aren't Christians, sorry to say. It's weird that my pastor was just talking about this in church today, lol... But I do totally agree with, but just don't judge a Christian because of that, because we aren't God, we're imperfect just like everyone else... The bible says "Those who have not sinned may cast the first stone..."... Check that out if you haven't already heard about it. But I always try to be nice to people, but people do tempt me to be the way I used to be sometimes, trust me. But people always tell me how nice I am, and ask how I don't give in to peer pressure and everything, so I guess I'm doing a good job so far, lol. Anyway, I hope this helps, this is what I know...

Excellent question. Jesus said when he was here on earth that people would know his followers by the way they conducted themselves. However, so many people today justify living anyway that they want to please themselves. They have no "Godly thinking", and most of the times they are known in the Christian world as "independent thinkers." What this means is they will find any means to justify living anyway they want to and say God understands that they're not perfect; which is true but we as Christians are still accountable for our actions. We should hold in the upmost esteem our lives and the way we choose to live both in and out of our places of worship. The most important being to see you is our Heavenly Father, and they may be able to perpetrate a fraud in their places of worship; but they can't fake the funk with him!!!...

Hypocrites come with lots of labels. Some of them choose Christianity. The Bible tells us we will know a tree by its fruits. People who devote their lives to godless pursuits are probably not real Christians.
That doesn't mean real Christians are perfect. True Christians realize that they are just as flawed as everyone else and that this is why they need Jesus to save them. We can't even fix our tangible bodies so that they don't die, so how could be possibly give ourselves spiritual immortality?
True Christians are sorry when they mess up and try to encourage themselves and others who come into their lives to do better. Doing God's will is pretty damn tough sometimes.

Isn't it so...thats why it's hard to trust any church..there are soooo many that go just to say that they are a good Christian..then go home and live a whole different life. I was at a bar once..located next to a church...Country church, country bar but i was there kinda early. but anyways as soon as this Catholic church let out..the bar filled with people leaving church to go hang out in the bar and drink it up. It's like because I park my car in the garage everyday..would that make me a car. They go to church..sit through church time..call themselves christians..then turn around and not live their words. But anyways I know what ya mean..always have.

They go to church & put on the act, then they go home & put their regular clothes back on & go back to who they really are!
That being said no one is perfect, we can only work on ourselves, trying to correct are own sins.
Of course in Gods church we will hear what sin really is! Many churches today sugar coat the truth because they don't want to upset anybody. If I'm guility I want to know the truth so I can repent. But to repent is the hard part for me. It's not easy. It's a daily strugle. That's why most find a church of their choice & not the chuch of Gods choice.

Yes I've noticed that too. I think its because Christians can do anything they want and still be forgiven..that's probably why they are Christians they never have to live their religion except when they go to their Churches. I prefer to live mine and that is why I am a Pagan. But the worst experiences in my life have been with those horrendous morans the Christians. It usually starts out with them saying, "I'm a christian...blah blah blay and then I run in bloody fear.

I'm not one to blame things on the devil much but the bottom line here is the devil's best weapon are fruitless Christians.
As the world sees people who claim to be Christians, but don't understand the faith and don't act it they will reject Christianity.
Now for our own blame:
To many Churches are Seeker friendly, trying to rack up the "saves" numbers without challenging peoples lives and faith. We need to challenge people church, encourage them to be in bible studies and make Christianity the focus of their lives no an addition to their lives.

that is because being a christian is an ongoing process which needs updating day by day
many churches teach a once and for all thing - just walk to the front and repeat 'after me' and hey presto instant salvation
which isn't realistic or sustainable nor is it bibically based - hence they often become 'anti' witnesses - those who put people off from darkening a church door again.
the answer is to help each christian desire to keep it real and keep it fresh in their lives so that their lives show what they say they believe in

Being a Christian i'm able to respond to asserting that I even have seen Christians pass out of their way for others, yet I even have additionally seen very hypocritical judgemental stingy ones to. a good style of individuals choose fascinated with what some do.i do no longer think every person ought to tension their faith on you, I even have confidence that there are loving Christians.
