There is some evidence pointing to the idea that Jesus was indeed married to Mary Magdalene.
One of the reasons some historians believe he was married is because it was expected at that time in history for Jewish men to marry. There were rarely any exceptions.
Also, the Gospel of Mary, which was discovered in Egypt in 1896, and translated in the 1950's, has a Passage where Peter says to her, " 'Sister, we know that the Saviour loved you more than the rest of women."
ANd in the Gospel of Phillip, which was discovered with the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, it says this about her: ""There were three who always walked with the Lord: Mary, his mother, and her sister, and Magdalene, the one who was called his companion."
Also, the fact that Mary Magdalene went to the tomb to annoint his body is said to be indicative that she was his wife, because only those who were extrememly close (in a familial way) would have gone to annoint him after death.

No. The researchers who wrote "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" (which inspired the Da Vinci Code) were duped into believing it by a French con artist who claimed to be not only the descendent of Jesus, but of French King Dagobert II.
He planted all of the evidence, including a ficticious list of former members of a fake society born to keep this "secret". (Listed among the members were Victor Hugo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Albert Einstein, and Issac Newton)
However, although the paper was about 100 years old, the ink that was used to create these lists contained ingredients that were not used until recently.
These rumors were started because a very poor minister got very wealthy very quickly, so some concluded that he found some secret document. However, evidence has been found that this minister had accepted payment for services he did not perform, and was later suspended from the ministry for it.
The evidence that Jesus was married came from the Gospel of Thomas. But if you actually look at the Gospel of Thomas, you'll see that it was damaged and full of holes. The passage that is used as evidence actually reads (in a passage that includes Mary Magdaline), "and Jesus {BLANK} kissed {LARGE BLANK} frequently."
So no, Jesus and Mary Magdaline were not married, nor did they have a child together. This is all an interesting story started with conspiracy theorists, naive researchers, and a con artist; that spun out of control.

Not in the Bible. And the Da Vinci stuff is just FICTION. I know it all originated from somewhere, but it was NOT from the Bible. Someone said that the Bible left out a lot.....His teen years and early adulthood. Yeah, but it clearly tells about when He met Mary Magdalene.......it was in his adulthood, and he certainly wasn't married to her and JUST meeting her??????
Being married would have been a major event in Jesus's life and I think we would have read about it in one of the four Gospels it it ever happened. I can only imagine what a great husband He would have been, and the lessons He could have taught about marriage. Also, why would He get married if He knew He only had a few short years on this Earth???

There is no literature from ancient manuscripts to show that she was married. Magdala was the city she was from and since she was not married they called her Mary Magdalene instead of Mary the wife of so and so as the other married women are addressed in the bible. All the gospels show that Jesus was not married. These written by people who knew Jesus. The gnostic books dated 200-400 AD (well after Jesus and his disciples died) which the DaVinci code is based upon are not accurate and contradict what the origional apostles and disciples wrote. DaVinci is fiction and its history inaccurate. By the way, the Bride of Jesus is the New Jerusalem in the bible. (Rev 21)

dan brown wrote that as a book of fiction. while it may be true that j was married, possibly to mary, no theology in christianity accepts any marriage of any kind ever could have occurred. personally, i find the story of the marriage at cana an possible clue about j being married. otherwise, why does mary ask him to supply more wine, and why is he criticised for saving the best wine for last? what do you think? was he, or wasn't he married?ther is just not enough information to really decide from my point of view. but neither do i say either case is true. i suspect it to be true but won't defend the view.

There is no proof for anything in the bible that is why they are called religious "beliefs" and why there are alot of sceptics out there where religion is concerend.. and why so many people fight and debate over the topic, there is no hard facts to make any of it a truth or proof..
Also the da vinci code is a fictional book that challenges many beliefs.. Does this mean the Bible is also a fictional book as there is no real proof to its content?

No there is not a single shred of evidence anywhere in history that Christ married. That would be sort of like saying John F Kennedy was killed with a bow and arrow, it just cant be accepted because its utterly false.

You will never be able to prove this. You can't even prove that he ever existed, regardless of what the Bible says. For all we know the Bible could have been written by the Devil him self just to confuse us. No one can know and no one dose, they assume God would not allow us to be miss lead in this way, but the people who say this are not God and they do not speak for God. God does what he pleases when it pleases him, that is if God even exist.

No, I've read and studied the Bible, can find it nowhere in there. Jesus was a Holy man, he was on Earth to spread the gospel and to die on the cross, he had no time for such leisure. Why would he marry knowing he was to die and leave her alone?
