My Grandfather who was a Minister of the Prebyterian Church suggested to me to be forever questioning, searching, etc. This I have done and I really feel that it has become my answer to "Whats it all about". It has confirmed my beliefs in God, as I feel that 1 (one) lifetime is not enough to learn all that we have to learn and so subsequent lives progress us on to spiritual enlightenment. I am always open to new theorys and ideas, so please give this your best - please treat it as a discussion and answer honestly from the heart and not from dogma.

If you look at how old some islamic civilisations are you would be very surprised at how rubbish their countires are.
Dirty filthy scumbags.

Islam makes it so through its policies.

You can see it when they immigrate to western countries.

They bring their rubbish with them. They create dirty filthy areas in their new home land.

Filthy gits.

I would be the first to concede to the fact that racism is in very poor taste, reflecting upon the guilty party's ignorance and handicapped view of the beauty of humanity, (and in no way condone, support, or value such opinions)

BUT,

I myself live in the United States, I don't know about the rest of you, but is it not their right to say whatever the hell they want? (discluding slander etc)

We have the right to be stupid,
We have the right to be ignorant,
We have the right to do or think, essentially, whatever we so desire, so long as another's rights are not infringed upon.
Let's not just look at racism, but everything "offensive" that people go around "reporting".

I mean, do we really have a right to not be offended? Of course not.

Jesus was executed as a criminal by the legal authority of his time and country...The rule of law. I have read how in the USA minors, mentally ill and retarded people have been executed with popular support. Innocent people have definitely been executed and more then a few occasions. So if you support the death penalty you would have to support the execution of Jesus as a lawfully condemned criminal right?

This is an honest question. Please, I am not assuming all Christians do but some of the ones I have met do. I have been investigating a few different Churches (Methodist, LDS, Baptist) and they have members that are really great, but then there are also a lot of homophobes. Is Homosexuality a greater sin than the ones Christians commit on a daily basis. Why can some of the old laws of the old testament be considered no longer applicable, but homosexuality is still considered a horrible sin.

It is such a shame that there are Christians out there that are really full of love, then they make themselves out to be an *** because they seem to really take homosexuals as an insult to their beliefs.

I never report because I merely disagree. I dont even report the posts that dont make sense. I wont report anyone who complains or gripes. But I SO report people who will constantly call ANY religion or faith, stupid, ignorant, less than human, or say they should all die. Anyone else? Are you scared to report blantant hateful posts, or so you report?

so a lot of people ask me stupid questions so I don't answer, knowing full well that they can figure problems out with the brains that God gave them. You know, if there was more initiative taken on individual parts to take on the problem, our lives would run smoother.

God is the source of all goodness. Complete lack of God would mean complete lack of goodness. All morals you have come either directly from God as you learn about Him or indirectly through another person(your parents perhaps) whose source of morality can eventually be traced back to God. Same can be said for intelligence.

No one is born innately moral or intelligent. Kids dont come out respectful and kind and obedient and loving.

Atheist pride themselves on how wonderful they are with no need of God in their reality, yet all the decency and morals that they have in them are only there because of God, rather they acknowledge that or not.

So do a test. If you have a moral that you are proud of(lets say not stealling), find out what person instilled that in you, then ask who instilled that in them, eventually it will lead back to someone being inspired by God.

The argument over Evolution vs Creationism disturbs me. I believe that God used the processes of Evolution to create the universe and any and all life therein. One doesn't have to be an atheist to believe in the evolutionary process.I happen to be a liberal protestant Christian. To answer this question, however, you do not have to be Christian. Anyone who belongs to any of the worlds religions can express thoughts on this one.

Islam is currently the fasting growing religion in America whose adherents hail from every race and ethnicity. In the United States, where Muslims number over six million, the Islamic faith has in many estimates surpassed Judaism and is believed to be the second largest religion in America after Christianity.

some of the most famous people have turned to islam, for e.g. Muhammad Ali considered the greatest sports person ever, cat stevens made tracks like 'first cut is the deepest', or kareen abdul jabbar one of the NBAs 50 greatest players of all time, WHY DO THEY DO IT?

what i want to know is why do people convert to islam, why not judaism or christianity ?

Personally I think that the muslim religion is a huge contradiction.

1 - It speaks of a "mercyful" God, but it doesn't mention "LOVING" God.
2 - It claims it defends Jesus, but people in Islamic countries GO TO JAIL if they become christians.
3 - It says is a peaceful religion, but even its founder was involved in wars.

Personally I have a sympathy for that religion (am I christian) and would like it to see fulfilled, but I wonder if there's a huge huge huge gap between theory and practice in it?
