Since no one is perfect, should we conclude that nobody has the right to be critical of other people?

Certainly not, since each of you should be working for the progress of everyone else, and especially of those who've been placed in your care. But when you do criticize, do it in moderation, trying your best to be helpful. Don't do it, as frequently happens, because you take secret pleasure in berating someone. If this is your motive, your criticism will simply be an instance of malice. When you have to make a critical observation, do so in a way consistent with the law of love, being as considerate as possible. Be careful, too, that the criticism you levy at someone else can't also be directed at you. You should determine first whether or not you deserve the very censure you plan to give.
