Personally I think that the muslim religion is a huge contradiction.

1 - It speaks of a "mercyful" God, but it doesn't mention "LOVING" God.
2 - It claims it defends Jesus, but people in Islamic countries GO TO JAIL if they become christians.
3 - It says is a peaceful religion, but even its founder was involved in wars.

Personally I have a sympathy for that religion (am I christian) and would like it to see fulfilled, but I wonder if there's a huge huge huge gap between theory and practice in it?

I don't think you know anything about Islam.

And if you're christian. what do u think of the crusades? Were they peaceful? Don't you think that the gap is present in Christianity?

There might be some Muslims that misinterpret some of the teachings of Islam but that doesn't mean that all Muslims are the same or that Islam is not peaceful.

Please read about islam from good sources , here are a few if you're intrested

I think we should have a sympathy for you.

yes our religion speaks of merciful and loving as well, you should be involve with the Muslims society to feel the loving atmosphere among them and towards others, within their families you will hardly see a son/daughter throwing their parents a way or separating from them or other way around, they will die for each other and this you will never find it anywhere else, and why is that cause our religion is calling for the love of each other, same thing with Friends

your second question yeas we love Jesus and believe in him as prophet and messenger of god. people who converted to Christianity will not go to jail in all Islamic countries because not all Muslims are same

your third question, all wars which he was involved in it was just to protect his followers of Quresh attacks not because he love wars.

you should check good sources before judging others unless you are 100% perfect and I think no body is perfect.

Well, aside from all that it's supposed to be peaceful. Keep in mind in times of peace, they are not supposed to be doing that. Ive spoken to many muslims that do not agree with the middle eastern arab islamic view. They say its not justified (so i guess theres a gap east vs west) they say its only right to defend islam when its THREATENED.

I always thought about that myself. When these Islamic leaders call for jihad and call for people to rise up, why dont the American or South American (anywhere for that matter) answer the call? Apparently, not all share the same belief.

In answer to your 2nd and 3rd statement....They believe Jesus practiced Islam, so no question about converting to Christianity. Secondly, The founder of Islam was involved in wars, in defense. He never started wars on his own. You don't have to sympathize for Muslims. We Muslims sympathize with you.

In theory Islam is perfect, as guidance from God. In practice, it is practiced by human beings, who were designed by God not to be perfect.
Don't judge Islam by what you see Muslims doing, or you will lose the chance to see what it can do for you.
Don't be too quick to judge what you see about Muslims, either, because of the well known media bias against Muslims.
In the Quran, God tells us that he is closer to each of us than our jugular vein. The Prophet told us that if we take one step toward God, he takes 10 steps toward us. If we walk to Him, He runs to us. The love God has for us is much greater than a mother for her newborn baby.
Since Jesus is already part of Islam, it doesn't make sense for Muslims to become Christians, (see www.jesusthemuslim.com) but it still happens - missionary work in some parts of the world still convert Muslims by providing food and education. I wish they wouldn't, but it's better than starving.
Islam is a struggle to achieve peace. It is not an oasis of peace that ignores the reality of life. In the wars you refer to, none were started by Muslims, they were all defensive wars. In the Quran, God says there is no violence allowed except against oppression.

Walking on water? Changing water into wine (but drinking is still bad)? Women cant talk in church?

Take your imaginary friends and go play somewhere else.
