Astrology is a study of "Effects"
The "effect" of the Material Universe on the individual.
But the individual is a spiritual being, therefore ultimately he is part of the Spiritual Universe while being in the Material Universe.
His purpose is to become more "Cause" as a spiritual being and put some order and control into the Material Universe which is basically "chaos".
Therefore Astrology is a trap, (like so many other traps) designed to get you to agree that you are simply "effect" of the Material Universe ( which is a lie) rather than Cause.

I do not know whether Gautama Buddha ever actually said or wrote anything specifically about Astrology, but based on what he did write and say this would be close to his response to it.

Tibetan Astrology originated from several different traditions: Indian, Chinese, the local Bon religion, and the Buddhist Kalachakra tantra.
Traditionally, astrology was one of the five secondary sciences in Tibet. It concerns not only divination, but it is also used in the study of time cycles, Tibetan chronology and the compilation of the calendar. The calendar in the form of an almanac is still quite important in the daily life of the Tibetans to ensure that their daily activities are in tune with the cosmos.
i dont personally know if the budha has any text on astrology himself but the tibetans have used buddahism and astrology for centeries

Budha said "Let go the past. Let go the FUTURE. Let go the present (front, back and middle). Crossing to the farther shore of existence, with mind released from everything, do not again undergo birth and decay." So, maybe he was not interested in Astrology. He thought of it as a form of craving.

The Buddha does'nt encourage people to seek the asistance from speculative belief, including fotune -telling ,palm readings or even geomancy as they can lead to supertitious value and opportunitism of fate .Always believe that your fate is in your hands .you make your own success and failure ,and be your own savior and liberator!
