God is the source of all goodness. Complete lack of God would mean complete lack of goodness. All morals you have come either directly from God as you learn about Him or indirectly through another person(your parents perhaps) whose source of morality can eventually be traced back to God. Same can be said for intelligence.

No one is born innately moral or intelligent. Kids dont come out respectful and kind and obedient and loving.

Atheist pride themselves on how wonderful they are with no need of God in their reality, yet all the decency and morals that they have in them are only there because of God, rather they acknowledge that or not.

So do a test. If you have a moral that you are proud of(lets say not stealling), find out what person instilled that in you, then ask who instilled that in them, eventually it will lead back to someone being inspired by God.

To Eggman:

No I am not saying at all that whoever doesnt believe in God is evil. That was no where implied. What I am saying is that belief in God is not a necessity for the affects of God to be in the lives of a people or a culture. All goodness no matter what form it has taking on or where it is has its origin with God

Your assertions are deeply offensive, not just to individuals who may not share your convictions, but to the human race from which you sprang.

To image that human beings are incapable of compassion or charity or insight or morality without the intervention of an ivisible god whose presence has neber been proved, and will ikely never be proved, is IGNORANT and SELFISH.

You provide the classic paradox of one who tries to advance the reputation of your "loving" god by making base, self-serving accusations. And you take the lowest road possible by trying to exalt yourself through the denegration of others (PS: It won't work; it never does).

YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF.

That argument won't work. Although I believe the religion does teach good morals, since I don't believe in God, that would mean I do believe that religion was started somewhere along the line. So if I traced back far enough I would find that no it ultimately doesn't lead back to God. I believe the bible was written by men as a code of morals and that it is fiction.

Well some people have different morals so as Mr Luther would say "WRONG!"

Also you Christan morals are not consistent. If you read the bible you will find that it was socially acceptable to rape an un-marred woman in ancient Israel if you wanted to marry her. Something that is widely considered to be bad. So if there is a god that tells us right from wrong than he must change his mind a lot and tell different things to different people.

One of the reasons we have so much war is because the two sides both believe that there god is telling them that it is OK to Burn rape and pillage.

I do not steal because that would hurt the store from which I am stealing. Humans have a moral part of their brain that tells them that we should not hurt others. it is part of survival, if we all destroyed each other we would not exist.

I would not kill someone because I was afraid God would punish me, I would not kill them because I respect that person's life and that of their families. We, being advanced animals, have some perception that other beings exist. We do unto others as we want to have done unto us, simply to survive. its not about god, its about survival and general respect because we are all alive.

Actually, the Bible says that if a man desires a woman from a country he is at war with, it is acceptable to God for him to murder her parents and then force her to marry him.

Is the Bible your source of morality? I truly hope not.

What a pile of BS. I can see your just another dimwitted, brainwashed Xian. For your info Hammurabi came up with the first code of conduct, thousands of years before Christianity, or Judaism.

LUDD, you've been reported!

Hey, bubble boy - are you retarded or something? You think there were no decent people outside of the Christian faith? All those asians and indians and muslims out there - are they complete barbarians? Think about all the wars inspired by your precious religion.

Read a history book. Get out more.

So what your saying is the absence of God (your Christian God) equals evil.... everyone on the planet who doesn't believe in your God is evil? Is that what you're saying? Because if it is then you are even stupider than you sound (and that's pretty darned stupid).
