Jesus was executed as a criminal by the legal authority of his time and country...The rule of law. I have read how in the USA minors, mentally ill and retarded people have been executed with popular support. Innocent people have definitely been executed and more then a few occasions. So if you support the death penalty you would have to support the execution of Jesus as a lawfully condemned criminal right?

Christians who support the death penalty are Hypocrites; Jesus taught those who are without sin should cast the first stone, most people who quote the bible are quoting the old testament to suit their own desires. These are against the teachings of Jesus. People like to find the loops holes so they refer to the old testament to justify opinions. True Christians believe in Christ and his teachings ALL OF THEM.

THOU SHALL NOT KILL is also in the old testament it does not say unless you really really want to. or if 12 people decide it's OK.

Your logic is twisted. I am a Christian, and I support the death penalty. I don't support the execution of innocent people though. Only murderers and terrorists who show no remorse. We have this thing called DNA now that helps to convict murderers beyond the shadow of a doubt, which leaves for little error in sentencing the wrong person to death. And anyway, God calls for the execution of murderers. Jesus wasn't a murderer, obviously, so why are you saying by default, that Christians would support his "execution" if they support the death penalty? People don't support the "execution" of innocent people, just the execution of murderers and terrorists that have been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt in their crime.

First of all, I didn't know Christians supported the death penalty. I consider myself Christian and the death penalty should not even exist in our vocabulary. If we supported the death penalty that would make us the worse hypocrites next to Satan.

If you take someones life then you should die if it was not accidental. Definitely some innocents have died by execution.
Our peers as the jury decides the consequences.

Jesus (Yeshua) did not take someones life. He was NOT a criminal. He lived a perfect life. He laid down his life willingly. He did not deserve Calvary, we did. He died in our place.

Don't make fun of the Crucifixion. That was the HOLY ACT OF G-D. It should never be used in the same sentence with unholiness.

wrong, I don't know where your getting your info but there is no way that some innocent person got the death penalty, remember were talking about the worst criminals in the world, not some guy who was in the wrong place, as for minors it depends on the crime, certainly if it was petty theft they should not get C.P. but what about double homicide or such, are you gonna pay to feed these guys while their serving life sentences?

Shut up. I support the death penalty because murderers deserve a taste of their own medicine and rapists and molesters need it too.

I hate it when people try to twist the Bible...

It isn't ungodly to sentence someone to death when they deserve it, (and it has been proven). When laws are made, so are punishments... Rape, Murder, Molestation... such acts deserve a death sentence in my opinion.

Would it be better to just let them roam free to murder, rape and molest more people? No, and they most likely would given the chance. It's been proven they will do it again enough times.

you hold a good argument. in my opinion death should only be condemned by God i wish death upon no one it is not my right to say who should live or die neither should it be in any one Else's power.
