They know that both of it are 'haram' anyway...and its a sin.

There are lots of things that are haram or forbidden, including telling lies, to back bite, to hurt people or creatures of God unjustly who the MOST HIGH made and established on His Earth. People pick and choose what they want to disobey from the commands of God, which suits their purpose.
Those who drink alchohol among the Muslims perhaps find it pleasurable enough to break the Lord's Law, but they may not find pork tasty enough (if they tried it) to break the law, to the point of taking a life illegally, when they can eat other meats that are allowed to Muslims. Many just hate pork because they may have been from countries where they see the pigs eat dirt and filth and feces as they scavenge.
In the scheme of things, Muslims are allowed neither alchohol nor pork. Christians eat both and Jews may drink alchohol but not eat pork. Thus in the piety scale, I would give Muslims top marks (the prejudiced Muslim that I am... lol), Jews after that and Christians at the bottom of the monotheists.

I'm a non-pious Muslim. I drink alcohol, it's fun and I like it! I also eat pork sometimes but I don't like it so much because it is so fat while cow or sheep's meet is much better. Also pig eats its **** which may be affected with different bacterias.
There can be also some dangerous bacterias living in the pork which are killed only at very high temperatures.
However i advice you not to eat pork. Try to eat sheep or cow instead it will help your health. It will be the best if you could eat fish instead. Fish is full of omega three and useful proteins while having no fat. It will make you be more healthy - physically and mentally.

as a MUSLIM i want to tell u why dont we eat this things prok is very dirty meat yuk and Pork is forbidden is cuz pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be cuz pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own ) garbage and other pigs and then comes alcohol science says when u drink alcohol it is presesnt iin ur blood for 40 days science says that now what islam says when u drink alcohol u cant PRAY muslim prayer for 40 days coz its there in ur blood for 40 days this is the reasion and why some muslims drink coz they are to week towards ISLAM thats why

Pork starts killing you the minute you eat it(medical fact)and alcohol doesnt. I dont know I'm not muslim,but I do know in both books it talks of holy men drinking alcohol,and not eating pork

I think it's because most Muslims look at pork as utterly disgusting, similar to dog poo. Alcohol doesn't seem quite so disgusting, so it tends to be more appealing I suppose. *shrugs*
I myself would think the opposite, as in times of desperate need, even pork is halal to eat. Whereas a drunk is classified as someone who rejects God until he has sobered up. Even a small bit is forbidden to drink. If a barrel of it will make you drunk, you shouldn't drink a sip.

am not a drinker but i think that is because these Muslims classify sins into different types of sins ..
both are sins .. but drinking (if moderate ) have less harmful effects ..cause its forbidden because of its influence on the state of consciousness and not because it is harmful for human body.. while pork is forbidden because it causes malicious diseases (because it eats dirt)
maybe that’s the way OR
maybe there are many kinds of meat but all alcohols are forbidden ..
third.. alcohol causes addiction.. they might go for experience and stuck there ! but meat does not cause addiction!
