The argument over Evolution vs Creationism disturbs me. I believe that God used the processes of Evolution to create the universe and any and all life therein. One doesn't have to be an atheist to believe in the evolutionary process.I happen to be a liberal protestant Christian. To answer this question, however, you do not have to be Christian. Anyone who belongs to any of the worlds religions can express thoughts on this one.

I believe it is entirely possible for God to have used evolution as a means to creation. God says he created the entire universe in 6 days...but the question is "are god's days the same as ours?" I doubt it.

Okay here is the best answer:

If you are a great inventor - wouldnt you put a backup system in your design in case of emergencies? God is allwise and all knowing. Creation was made to live in a sinless world, with the back up plan of gene mutations in case sin happend to at lease give creation a fighting chance. Neither God nor the Bible said evolution couldnt happen. That was the false conclusions of men wanting to think in behalf of God. BUT here is where science and Christianity take a turn. Science says everything came from one species at some point because of evolution, dispite the incredibly poor evidence of missing link fossils. In fact animals were made perfect from the beginnign but have been evolving to survive a sinful world..

Remember that Christ says in the Kingdom that the Lion shall lay down beside the Sheep. This suggest among many things an end fo the predator prey relationships as we know them. It is also mentioned in the bible how the rose once did not have thorns - it evolved them

The problem with this issue is no one knows what happened in the beginning. It requires faith to believe one way or the other. Both sides or all sides will stand strongly on their side of this issue. In this case, you can ask where did this higher power come from? On the other hand, you can ask did all this happen just like that? Who knows? I do believe in Evolution (makes more sense to me) over Creation, barring how all this got started.

I really don't believe in religion, I believe in science, science is evident, God is not. You're following a storybook, just a good story. God didn't part the red sea, the splitting of tectonic plates did, and will happen again soon. Moses did not see a burning bush, he was suffering from altitude sickness which causes hallucination. God didn't flood the earth, every religion has a flood story meaning it was nature not God. Science explains everything, wake up.

as a christian i have no problem with the theory of evolution-- it makes perfect sense to me that if God created "life" from scratch.. He could sit back and watch and see what happens ...as I have said before-- i do draw the line that the human species evolved from apes... i believe we are an entirely different family

I believe the exact same thing, only in a different context, because I am Wiccan; God,dess invented biology, and so she should have the best grasp of all, as to how it works! And I have always seen science and religion as long lost brothers- Cain and Abel style.
I wish they could reconcile. We'd all be better off.
Blessed Be.

In short, I think aliens could have made us. Either a lifeform gained enough knowledge to act as others "god" with technology n stuff, and made us or soemthing like that, started, or we happened to be that same civilization who is on thy way to becoming the god and watching others throughout the universe.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. As a Baha'i, I believe that science will one day prove the existance of God.

Best wishes.
