Most Christians will tell you that if you want to go to heaven, you've got to believe in God. Fair enough. After all, who would want to go to an afterlife that they don't believe in?:-)

Doing good deeds gets you bonus points (perhaps you go to a better class of heaven?) but the most important thing is that you believe in God.

So logically if you do loads and loads of good deeds (cure cancer, negotiate peace treaties, care for your ageing parents), but refuse to acknowledge the existence of God, you're still going straight to Hell, and your good deeds don't count for ****.

Poor old God. Does He crave your acknowledgement and affection so badly that He's prepared to ignore pretty much anything else you do in your life when He decides your fate?

If an adult behaved in that way, people would say they were very insecure. Although when dogs and young children behave like that, it's pretty normal and nothing to worry about.

What do you think?

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.."

CELL PHONE VS. BIBLE
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our
cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't ever have
to worry about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already
paid the bill!

Seriously, God can do anything, at any time with no effort.
Such is the infinite power of a true god.

Having to send his "son" to earth to die and be ressurected sounds more like a higher dimensional being (that is NOT god, anymore than we are a god to ants) testing out a scientific experiement of some kind. Really, why does Jesus HAVE to DIE for us to go to heaven? Couldn't he have lived for like 1000 years and founded a truly good chruch which respected women equally? Couldn't god have ressurected us from day one.

So is Jesus an Alien? or is this whole thing just untrue, created by diciples and priests to gain power/money?

I can be good and live purely, and some christians would say I don't go to heaven unless I accept Jesus. Are they wrong, or does belief in a god without supreme power the only prerequisite for heaven?

To elaborate, my mother raised me to believe in and worship God...no one else. I specifically remember her saying "if you choose to follow a religion, I want you to do it because your heart told you so......not me". So when I got to that age when you start wondering what God's all about, I started studying the three one-God religions (Islam, Judaism, Christianity) and my heart told me to follow Islam. Did anyone else have this experience, or do all of you follow religion "x" because Grandma, Papa, Mama and Uncle told you to.
