Well, I think the closest equivalent that I've heard of is Qi, in several Chinese traditions (such as Qi-Gong), which is believed to be an energy force that flows through all living organisms.

I believe in the so-called "Force"--which is nothing else than the
"radiation" of the Holly Spirit; and which maintains Life in Creation.
This radiation touches all the human spirits. And gives them the
necessary "force" to move all their covers: the Animistic body (or
"the soul"), the Material-Fine and the Physical bodies. If this primary
radiation would miss--even for a moment--the entire Creation would
begin to get old; and finally, to desintegrate. This Force is absolutely
neutral. The man is the one who leads it: for making good, or for making
bad (reported to the Ten Commendments). God decided to leave to all
the human beeings, the right to free decision. But the man has to
answer for his decisions. He will always harvest exactly as he has
sowed.

The Force is very similar to the Chi which is a central belief for the Chinese. It exists in all life and in the universe. It's used in Feng Shui, Chinese martial arts and Chinese medicine.

And if you watch the Science of SW, you will see that Lucas was refering this Chi when he thought up the idea of the Force.

The Force is basically the same thing as Chi. Do a search on it on the internet. I don't believe that Chi is real or anything, but the people that do believe in it think that when the Chi is not in balance bad things will happen (such as earth quakes).

Wiccans believe in universal energy. We often tap into it when we do spellwork.

We also draw energy from the earth, air, water and fire.

Perhaps George Lucas read a few of our books before he wrote the Star Wars series. LOL

Yes. Love is the Unified Field. The 'force' which unifies, generates and sustains the hologram of the Universe. It much more than an emotion. It is a universal force.

u mean like 6th sense? maybe. u ever now and then predict when someone will call? or the next song they'll play on the radio?or hoping that they'll show a particular episode of the simpsons...and they DO! this is probably as close to the 'Force' as humanity will get for awhile.

The force is strong in this one, friend.
We are all magickal manifesting creatures.
It comes from the Force..............
the Source?
A Source-eress?
No matter what shape or form, face or name we give it....God is the source, that being which we have made in the likeness of ourselves; that everyone can tap into that source- their force.
