Why be stingy with blessings. Sorry if I am stepping on angry toes...but I am seriously wondering...always did…and I notice that it is used in context when speaking of war...why bring God into political wars in the first place...

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky

Matt 19:26-
According to verse, "with God all things are possible".
However, Hebrews 6:18 declares that "It is impossible for God to lie"

Tell me your thoughts about this.

I know this should probably be put under the Polls and Surveys catagory, but since it pertains to religion I thought I 'd post it here. Anyway...

Do you think you would get more out of this yahoo! answers forum and get better questions about your "particular" religion if they divided the "religion/spirituality forum into separate catagories? YES or NO?

An example would be: Islam, Christianity, Buddhism/Hinduism, Pagan/Wiccan, and Other Spirituality.

Besides saying just YES or NO, feel free to add your thoughts and/or comments on this.

Thankyou in advance!

Exodus 32, Verse 12: Wherefore should the Egyptians speak and say, for mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth. Turn from thy fierce wrath and repent of this evil agianst thy people.

Exodus 32, Verse 14: And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

I keep hearing about these 70 virgins that every Muslim man gets as a reward if he makes it to heaven. One thing I don't understand, though...after the first night, they wouldn't be virgins anymore, so would I get to turn them in for new ones? If so, what happens to the ones that are no longer virgins, and where do all the new virgins come from? Are they like sex robots or something?

Also, what do they women get? 70 virule young men?

Thanks, and please don't kill me.

There are so many factors to take into consideration that I don't know where to start!

Should I go for the one with the most impressive miracles? Coolest-looking gods/goddesses? Or nicest places of worship, most/least demanding observances, the most festivals, greatest/smallest number of prohibited foods, most enjoyable afterlife, largest number of believers, strictest moral code, or the biggest/smallest number of holy wars to its name?

What about its attitude towards women? Is my religion likely to get me persecuted or stoned to death? Are there any other factors I might have overlooked?

I admit that I don’t know much about the Islam religion, but one thing that I do know is that it can not be ignored. Finding out more about it has been difficult because truly I haven’t found too many Muslins to be approachable enough to ask questions. I thought that this may be a good forum to ask.

Next question:

I understand that you consider Jesus to be a prophet, I also understand that you have your own text. How does your view of Jesus come into play? How does a Jew (which is my understanding of him) relate to him being a Muslin?

Please use tact when answering the question to ensure that the Christians don’t feel attacked by your response.

My neighbor is a devout Christian, and my husband and I choose not to follow a religion. My neighbor doesn't want my 4 year old daughter to play with her 4 year old daughter because "our morals aren't the same". My husband and I believe in loving our neighbor, and have tried hard to be patient and kind to them, but have finally given up. We do have morals, and strong beliefs - just not religion. I always find religious people to assume I have no morals or strong convictions, and that irks me no end. Why is this the case?

My friend recently (about 2 months ago) told me he was gay. I've never had a gay friend but it doesn't bother me. I guess he can get a whole bunch of girls now and then tell them how great I am!! However, his mother was asked to leave her Church congregation because she wouldn't renounce his "lifestyle" in public. He doesn't really go to church though. I know there are many Christains on this site so what is your opinion? Should she just find another church? Is this really wrong or acceptable? What would you have done if you were the head of the church?

It seems to me that athiests begin understanding with doubt and scepticism while theist begin exploring things with faith. Why is this? What is your opinion?

I was thinking that since they can not marry and I assume they aren't supposed to masturbate, that the only reason why so many have violated children is because they need a why to let out their sexual frustrations.

Any thoughts on that?

Genesis 1:26a reads, "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air...'" I've heard it said that the "us" here is the Trinity of God, communing and planning together. The Trinity referring to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. What do you think as an explanation?
