They don't stop to question why they do what they do or believe what they believe. Just follow the lead which can lead them down the wrong path. Everyone should be able to show what they believe to anyone else that may ask and give an answer to every question on their faith and why they believe it that way. Most do not even read the bible so they don't even know where anything is in it. Just let their parents and pastors do the reading and they will just follow along and hope it is right.

Because religion, like most cultural forms, is passed on. The actual content matters very little and it is rarely submitted to a critical review by the receiver. Like language, it is mostly just absorbed.

And by the way, the question the Billy asked was why MOST people have the same religion as their parents. He didn't ask if YOU have the same religion as your parents.

because most children just follow the religion of thier parents because that is what they grew up with. It is comfortable. Some people however do eventually branch off if they feel that the religion isn't working for them. For example, raised Catholic, am now pagan.

The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 Maybe parents try to train their children in the ways of God so they won't spend an eternity in Hell?????? Man, that's terrible! Let them do what they want! Yeah right, that's why the youth of today are lazy, disprepectful, hateful, depressed, atheistic, and hurting beyond belief.

I have actualy thought about this alot reccently. I think its often all there used to. And sometimes no matter how old we get, we want to please our parents. Its not always a councience thing, but if you really think about it, its true.

I sometimes wish children would be raised with a clean slate, and at a certain age have all the religions presented to them, and they make up there own mind.
