10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."
3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.
2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian

Those are all great points. It's obvious you know your Bible and your history. Hell, you said "Triune."
All I can say is that I am a Christian, and while there are a WHOLE LOT of Christians that have the issues you brought up, I've managed to grow past that. Though, I suppose most Christians wouldn't acknowledge me as one of them anymore... so well... there you go.
I just wanted to say I'm impresed. Thanks!

10. I don't feel outraged. Sure, i'll tell you god exists, but i'm not going to kill you for it.
9. yeah right. i'm what you might call a liberal christian...a.k.a. avid supporter of evolution.
8. the Holy Trinity is extremely confusing. i am still confused by it. perhaps you could seek out a bishop and ask him why the church invented such a difficult concept.
7. hell no! god in the old testament is mean!
6. well...yes, lol. sorry.
5. hell no again! with all the real science supporting it, i throw my small weight with big bang and evolution, and old earth.
4. hmmm...so we're a little on the violent side. and luckily i think i will see other denominations in heaven.
3. oh please. pentacostal churchs should get a grip.
2. maybe god just didn't feel like answering thier prayers. by the way, where'd u get that stat?
1. i would hope not: i think i'm pretty well educated on some of those, but yes, it's true often times. there. i freely admitted it.

10. What outrage? I send you a gummy bear. Smile.
9. I think there was another process altogether, but it used the same elements found on the earth.
8. The Godhead consists of 3 separate and distinct individuals, so they are considered one in purpose but not one entity. Mormon doctrine might make more sense to you in this regard.
7. It was all the firstborn in Egypt, of any age, who died, to remind everyone the Hebrews were being carefully prepared for the life and mission of Jesus Christ. If that is what you are referring to, I mean.
6. Hmm, we do not have enough information to say exactly how Mary went through that process. If you go back and read the Bible, it does not say what you are saying it did.
Well, I could answer your other points, but this is enough work for 2 points. Try reading the Book of Mormon, that might explain more. Unless you are skeptical about other Christian books which support the Bible. A good Bible commentary would help a lot.

Hello :)
You have addressed this to me, since you have said You.. :)
10 - No, I do not judge someones else's beliefs in other gods, I can only feel Love for all, whether they condemn God or not, for I used to feel outraged, when a Christian would preach to me about Love..
9 - Why on earth would I feel insulted, or "dehumanized" by something I no longer believe in..Yes, I do believe we were created by God from the earth, do we not have all of the essentials within our bodies, from the very earth we live on..
8 - I laugh at no one.. :(
7 - I have some very close friends that are Muslim, I do not judge anyone..as for God slaughtering the babies of Egypt..it was not God who started this slaughter but the Pharaoh himself..Does God not have the right to protect His children, as I am sure you would for your family..
6 - I laugh at no ones beliefs..if you even read my posts you would know this..I also have many Hindu friends, I have met here.. :)
5 - I know that the earth is a young planet, I do not need to spend my life trying to find loopholes..for they are plain as day.. :)
4 - Yes, I do believe that many shall perish and go to an eternal torment..but that is the choice they have made, Jesus gave His life, so that others may live..you have control over your own destiny not us..we Love you and want to share this Love with you, so that you will be our brethren and find Eternal life with us.. :)
3 - the above question contridicts what you have said about us..do you honestly think I want to go back, hating and poking fun of others, just as you have done to us in this statement..the Answer is NO..I want to be able to Love and forgive others..
The evidence is the change in my life..from cruely making fun others faiths, to sharing the Love of Jesus.. :)
If anyone can show me where modern science, geology, biology and physics have changed someones heart to become Loving and caring to their fellow man and give them something other than themselves to live for..than I would go back to being an Atheist..but it didn't and it can't.. :(
2 - God answers ALL prayers..it is yes, no or wait a while.. :)
So the 1% you speak of, is the wait a while.. :)
1 - How is that possible..I used to be an Atheist..
==============================...
This Answer will go unoticed, by some..but if it only touches one heart to realize that a true believer in Christ, does not behave like was was written here about them..
You are in my heart, and my prayers.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

Great, but lengthy question.
It is fascinating to see the answers that took it seriously.
It was funny to see the ones that denied most of your information being accurate... as if half the bible was made up by atheists to torment christians.
It's amazing how many people claim christianity yet deny most of the bible because it wasn't taught in their whitewashed sunday school classes. Do they really think they can learn the content of the entire bible one hour on one day each week? Not even if they attend EVERY sunday of their lives.
Silly people.
Loved the answers by Christians who take it all seriously and without malice. Good work. It proved there are a better breed of christian than the most vocal ones.

This "question" (!?!) has been "asked" dozens of times here already. The "question" contains many outright lies and gross distortions about the bible and true Christianity. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:
(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world
(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

And I gotta add this:
Thanks for the two points.

10: you are assuming too much. I have not, nor will I ever deny the views held by others.
9. Again, you assume too much. Is it possible the scientists AND the bible are correct?
8. Nope...wrong again.
7. You batting 0 for 4 so far.
6. Incorrect. I have a problem when people criticize those with opposing opinions.
I won't bother to address the next 5 questions as you have been too far out in left field to this point. Good luck to you.

10. No, I don’t deny their existence. I call these gods demons. I’m not upset at anyone who denies the existence of YHVH. I feel sorry for them.
9.Nope, I feel sorry for those who use scientific theory as fact.
8. Never laughed at a polytheist. Never met any. The trinity of YHVH is different than 3 gods, but it’s one thing no one can explain with any satisfaction to one who doesn’t want to believe it. I’ll let Him explain it to your satisfaction on Judgment Day.
7.No purple face here. That Mohamed slaughtered many in Allah’s name is no concern to me. That YHVH judged that men should be killed is no surprise or mystery. All deserve the same fate and worse. Just wait till the Great Tribulation if you thought things were gory and atrocious in the Old Testament.
6. Still no laughter. Only pity. Gods sleeping with women? Yep, it’s called incubus and happens more than you think. The story of Messiah, not so hard to comprehend if you want to and easy to not believe it --your choice.
5. No loopholes needed. The Genesis account is one from the re-creation of the earth, not the beginning of it.
4. Pretty much sums it up.
3. They all are out of their purview when it comes to spiritual matters, including the Pentecostals.
2.pretty close guesstimate, but not YHVH’s fault that men pray for the wrong stuff and not as He would have them. My results are closer to .001, but the one thing I asked for and got was forgiveness of my sins and eternal life.
1. Yes, many know more than I do of all those things, but I know Christ and that is the BIG difference between us.
And I feel sorry for you as well.

#7: Trees are an ethnic group? Cool!
Pretty good post, but sorta angry so I think that few people that are on the fence are likely to read it...
I think people search for some reason to be human, since there's so much around us suggesting that we should be brutal, selfish automatons. Religion can point that way, create community and connection and a "moral compass," but so often at the expense of inclusion and acceptance. And often at the expense of scientific open-mindedness. But if you're going to wale on christianity, you should probably wale on neoclassical economics: it also provides a pseudoscientific framework and does astonishing damage. And, perhaps, contributes something useful too. But I don't want to write a long post right now.

You seem to have some issues against Christians that you have encountered. Not all Christians act or think the way you are judging them. A lot of Christians have issues with some of the people you have described. Point is, Christianity is a personal relationship between you and your savior, and no one else's business. I am a Christian who believes that the earth is a few billion years old, and that animals did evolve (to a certain extent), and a bunch of other points you seem to think we are all judgemental about.
