84% Of the population believe in God. And 14% don't. So, I was wondering if you don't believe in God, why must so few of you be a pain in the butt to the rest of the nation? Why do you want God taken out of everything? And if you do believe in God, give me a good argument on why we should have it. I am a christian and I think we should keep it as it is, if not add more "In God We Trust"s to everything. I just want to hear everyone else's opinion.

1 Cor 2:15 "The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:" (NIV)

1 Cor 4:5 "Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God."

I'm a worship leader at a church. And I'm pretty much the only one that plans the elements of the service. I need help with creativity. But we're not a huge mega-church that can do anything. I want simple, subtle, creative ideas that help keep people's interests. I need ideas for music, prayers, readings, etc. Please help.

According to Arminianism:

Salvation is accomplished through the combined efforts of God (who takes the initiative) and man (who must respond) - man's response being the determining factor. God has provided salvation for everyone, but His provision becomes effective only for those who, of their own free will, "choose" to cooperate with Him and accept His offer of grace. At the crucial point, man's will plays a decisive role; thus man, not God, determines who will be recipients of the gift of salvation.

According to Calvinism:

Salvation is accomplished by the almighty power of the Triune God. The Father chose a people, the Son died for them, the Holy Spirit makes Christ's death effective by bringing the elect to faith and repentance, thereby causing them to willingly obey the gospel. The entire process (election, redemption, regeneration) is the work of God and is by grace alone. Thus God, not man, determines who will be the recipients of the gift of salvation.

I have asked if atheist exist and by the answers I have recieved it is clear that with atheist, find it okay to ask for proof from others about their faith but it is not okay to ask for proof of theirs. You can say you don't believe in god, fine. I ask this, why when questioned about your beliefs do you turn around and resort to name calling and hate. The very thing that you accuse others (mainly Christians) of doing. Is that irony to do the one thing you most dispise of others?

Why is it wrong to ask the questions of your beliefs when you ask for proof of mine? If you are so torlerant of others, do you resort to name calling and hate? By the way you question my beliefs I would have expected better? Or maybe this to is a lesson in religon as well?

Who is more torlerant? Who is more forgiving? Just a few things to think about?

This is not making a claim that one belief system is better than another, just some general distictions that what is okay for one may not be for another.

Did Jesus every demand or command worship of himself? How does God feel about us worshipping his Son instead of Him. Did Jesus say "worship me" or did he say "worship the father'?

On one hand, babies are immunized and saved, on the other , African babies are aborted, fulfilling Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger's vision of population control of unwanted minorities

Some of the wealthiest men in the world descend like avenging angels on the populations of the developing world," wrote Population Research Institute president Steven Mosher, a frequent critic of Gates and Buffett. "They seek to decimate their numbers, to foist upon vulnerable people abortion, sterilization and contraception."

I believe morality is a real logical concept. I don't think people treat it that way. But it does not have a real effect on what happens in the universe. It is, effectively, not real. Right and wrong are ambiguous terms, at best. The terms right and wrong carry positive and negative connotation (obviously, but that's my point). The events in the universe obey the laws of physics, and there is no connotation to any of it, except to the conscious, selfish, individual. All connotation, all good and bad, happens in the head of each individual, and exists nowhere. I have heard several atheists say they know right from wrong, and that they teach it to their children, in response to a question about the 10 commandments. This seems very out of character, because they assert they can naturally tell right from wrong, then imply their children need to have it taught. I'm sure we end up with some combination of learned values and plain empathy. Anyway, what do the atheists think?
