No one ever said you must worship God in this so called place we call a church. If you have that faith and sense that God is with you, it doesn't matter weather you go to church. People who go to church thinking, okay I came to church ever Sunday I'm going to heaven, well that's not true just because a person attends church doesn't mean they are automatically going to heaven. The only way a person can get to heave is if they have accepted Jesus Christ into their heart. "He who has the Son as life, He who does not have the Son of God, does not have life." A church is basically a second family, or for me it is anyways. It is a place to go where you can be around people who are like you. But personally, just because you don't doesn't make you a bad person. I pray that God will show you where He wants you at. Just keep leaving on his word and you can be a very strong person. It is important that you do however help your kids to really see who God/Jesus is and make sure they have accepted them into their lives. I pray that your path will be straight, turn to God he will give you the answers you need, especially the answer on weather you belong in a church setting or not. I hope this helps a little.

Why dont you do your kids a favor and instead of caving into peer pressure, why not do a bible history study on Sunday mornings at home.
A great place to start would be the "Council of Nacea" (just google it and it will give you more that enough to work with for a month or two. If you still have an inkling to miss lead your children anymore about the greatest Fairy Tale ever told, then dig in a little more but stick with the history. If that doesn't show yo what a sham Christianity or any other religion is for that matter.
Then I guess you should go to church but dont punish your children for you own foolishness

It depends on what you consider a bad person. I think it is an excellent thing to bring kids up in church. I believe it helps them out in the long run. I would definantly start going. What will happen when they start getting more curious about Jesus and God? Will you be able to answer the question... "How do I get in Heaven?" Or "How do I get saved?" I think it would be good if you all go together as a family. Who knows you might learn some pretty interesting stuff too and might even like it :)

Don't worry about going to church.
Sure the Bible says forsake not the assembling of yourselves together...but that doesn't mean a church. It means do not forsake gathering with other saints.
You are the temple of the Holy Spirit, if you belong to Him. And the Church is the saints of God.
Going to a building every Sunday doesn't count for much in the eyes of God. Most churches are haunts of demons.
All that matters is that the Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. And that you obey the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul told the Corinthians to examine themselves to see if they were even in the faith: do you know God (John 17:3)? do you bear the fruit of holiness, not by your own power, but by the power of the Holy Spirit?
So keep reading your Bible and seeking God. Also 1 John 2 says "you need not that any man teach you". That is what the Holy Spirit is for.

No, You are not a bad person at all. The bible says to" forsake not the fellowship with the saints" because you would want that encouragement from others and support from church if needed. It will also benefit your children to be with others their ages. It's great that you share the bible and God with your children but what about time for yourself? Listen to your heart and decide. Pray and seek God's guidance for ur self and ur children. Do the right thing or least for the kids.God bless.

I regretted not going to church when my children were smaller. I thought that I could interpret the Bible as well as anyone so my children and I read and talked about it. Later when I actually went to church I realized that I had mixed all kinds of non- biblical ideas with the truth and made them a lie. I now find it hard to make one of my grown sons understand that I was wrong.
Make your own decision but this is my story. The Bible says, How can they hear without a preacher?
People are probably trying to encourage you to go because they realize that your interpretation of the Gospel is probably flawed. Search for a good church that reads from the bible and makes sense.

No not going to church does not make you a bad person.
If you are religious though, you should try to go. I know it's so easy to be lazy or get caught up in our daily lives, But, mass is only 1 hour, and I don't think it's too much to sacrifice one hour each sunday to go to church.
Especially, if you want to teach your children about God, why not let them go and listen to a mass? Even if you can't make it every sunday, try to make it occasionally so that your kids are more open to it. It's different learning at home than going to see a preacher.

Your personal relationship with God is what really matters. Bringing your kids up to know Him is the best thing you will ever do for them.
Church, in my opinion, is a good place to learn and fellowship, and worship, but by no means (again, in my opinion) is it a requirement.
If you would like to go, then go. God will lead you where He wants you. If you cannot find a church family that follows His word, then continue teaching your kids and learning on your own.
Your sister in Christ,
Shiba

Church is wherever two or more are gathered in Christ's name, and with myself and the Holy Spirit, that makes two! :o) I don't 'go' to church, but I do study with Pastor Arnold Murray. I don't like organized church, and I've been to enough of them to know exactly why I don't like them.
I do study almost daily the Word, with a bible and a Strong's concordance to 'show myself approved' in the eyes of God. I study chapter by chapter, verse by verse in that order, because skipping around or letting a pastor weave an hour long sermon out of a couple well worn scriptures is hardly following orders to read the entire letter Our Father gave us.
And He did write us a letter, but not many people read it. :o(

Well, I personaly don't believe you need to go to church to be a Christian. People will try and play the Ten Commandments card, but the Ten Commandments existed thousands of years before the first church was even formed.
