Don't you know how much He loves you?

I don't care about being slammed. Really I don't. I do believe, and nothing will ever change that. But I want them to know that Jesus does love them in spite of what they Say about Him.

Those that are forgiven much, Love much.

Those people just haven't been forgiven yet. When they realize how much Jesus loves them even to give His life for them because they are lost in their sin, & confess Him Lord & believe in their heart He rose from the dead & receive God's gift of salvation.

They will be forgiven much and so therefor will love much.

Noone knows because he may have never existed. How can you believe in something so blindly? You do realize that the bible was re-written 1000's of times by 1000's of different PEOPLE through 100's of years.

You (and all christians) should read a book call "Mis-quoting Jesus" written by a Christian. This was a guy who believed that the bible was the word of god. Then he took it upon himself to study what he believed and realized.....oh crap.....I really don't know what I'm reading here! The bible has been changed so much that noone knows whats "real" and what's not.

This was a person who really believed the bible, then really studied it. He is now an atheist.......booya! One for us! lol

Just one example, that old "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone". The story about Jesus protecting that whore. This story was not in the oldest manuscripts we have of the bible. Yet, it's in the one that's on the shelf today. Added by scribes throughout the years.

All you need to know is that there are as many atheists on these boards as there are believers. Since studies have shown that believers outnumber non-believers in America by a HUGE margin (85% of all Americans claim some form of religious belief) haven't you wondered why these discussions attract a disproportionate number of atheists?

It's because they CAN'T believe. Not won't but CAN'T. That's terribly frustrating, particularly for those who feel they are outsiders. So they lash out in their frustration. They try to hurt so they can gain some sense of superiority. It's the same thing as racial bias, gender bias, etc.

They are people of low self esteem; and all those of low self esteem either curl up and let themsleves be beaten or lash out and try to hurt.

This doesn't apply to all atheists; only those who feel the need to insult and participate in name calling. Most other atheists simply don't come here. So don't bother feeling offended. Just recognize the problems that cause them to act out. And say, "There but for the Grace of God......."

He was human - kind of like a Gandhi of his times. He did some good stuff, has a name in history (albeit an incorrect one), but then he died and dissolved into the earth just as every human does. Can you offer any proof besides the bible (which were picked and chosen out of dozens of different gospels) that points to Jesus as divine?

No?

As such, I talk about him like I would any other human being - flawed, imperfect, and stuck in his cultural timeframe.

Because they are being critical of something you are in irrational awe over, you aren't maybe noticing the nice things people say about Jesus because it doesn't challenge you at all, it is a bit mawkish and daft to tell people who don't believe in Jesus that he loves them... or hates them as some other people do. What doesn't exist has no validity.

Why do christians go around saying horrible things about other people's religions? Who has the right to say horrible things about anyone?

You are different from me and so is he and so is she. We are all different and we choose different things in life. I like the color which you hate. I am a vegetarian and you cannot (maybe) eat anything but meat.

If only you will stop criticising the other pious people in the world and do your duty with honesty and devotion, no one will say anything about Jesus Christ.

There has to be a reason and it is for you to find out.

I will not slam you for what you believe. I just don't happen to believe the same thing. To me God is energy. We are in control of our lives. Energy is our creator. I cannot believe otherwise. I would not however say anything about your God, that's a personal choice and I respect that. I just ask for the same. And I'm glad that you think He loves us, even though I don't believe in the same God.

Kind of like why people made Him suffer such a horrible death on the cross. They don't believe He's real/they don't believe He's the Son of God who came to Earth so we could go to heaven. How sad.

because if you think about our history, the history of the world and the religions that existed before Christianity and/or Catholicism, the crusades, holy wars, and witch trials we've been through......many were forced to believe in Jesus when they didn't want to. It should have been their decision whether or not to believe in him in the first place. No one likes being forced into doing something they don't want to do.

And if he loves us so much, then why does he take away those we love like our children, parents, grandparents, siblings or spouses? why does he make people have diseases that cause pain and suffering? and when he takes them away doesn't he know how much it hurts those who live on?

I am likely going to be the only nonbeliever answering your question...but I feel you didn't ask it to only get responses from believers. People must be held responsible for their actions, without any self respect people need to have someone being their keeper. Most people who choose not to allow a fiction character to be their keeper, keep themselves and suffer the consequences of their actions. I know you are instructed to love all and would never feel at all threatened by my response as you are surely faithful to your belief. Be Blessed
