Most Protestant churches do not recognize Catholic baptisms, which is why you were baptised again by the Baptists.

The Catholic Church will still see your first baptism as valid, but even if you had not been baptised, your Protestant baptism would be valid if it was done in the name of the Holy Trinity. If it wasn't, it would not be valid.

The need is not for baptism or re-baptism. You should speak with a priest regarding this matter. What is usually done is a Profession of Faith (a verbal acknowledgement that you are accepting the Faith and the Catholic Church's teachings) such as the Nicene Creed or something similiar.

Once you are a born again Christian, always a born again Christian. Jesus can't say to you, "oops I never knew you." Jesus knows everyone who is born again.

That is heavens ticket. Out of obedience to God one is a witness of this transformation in their life by water baptism. The old man dies and the new man is alive in Christ. Once you have done this water baptism, you don't need to do it again. This is just representative that you have got on the Salvation Foundation.

By confession one is a Sinner needing a Savior; by confessing Jesus Christ Lord, & believeing in one's heart He died on the cross for ones sins and rose from the dead, one will be saved.

Believing in ones heart = faith. It is the gift of God, through faith that a person is saved.

Water baptism is usually a one time thing. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a continual renewing. That is what what happens when a born again christian gets filled with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of truth that leads into all truth and does not lie. Is with you forever.

I think you should call yourself a Christian rather than a denomination. It would make things less confusing for you.

First of all I personally dont think that you can be born catholic. Your family may have been and you may have practiced as a child but once your old enough to accept Jesus as your personal savior is when your able to pick a denomination. I also believe if you cannot go back and forth either your all in or your not. I think you should learn as much as you can about being Catholic-what they believe then the same with Baptist. Pray about it and do what God tells you to do. Give all your worries and cares to Him because He has a plan for you

You only have one original sin, and it only needed to be "washed away" once. Perhaps the Baptists do not hold any stock in Catholic (infant) baptism?

If you were once a Catholic, but you left; I can't think of anything more than for you to come back to the Catholic Faith!
If you are worried about having commited an offense to God or His Church, by all means go to Confession. The priest will be very happy that you have decided to come back to the One, True, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

You are that prodigal son (daughter in this case) who has come back to her family (the Church) after having left.

Im not sure if you are guilty of heresy or schism
but both are grave sins
and since you did sin knowinglingly it can be considered mortal You will have to go to confession about it before participating in catholic rites. The good news is all sins can be forgiven

Heresy is obstinate post-baptismal denial of a truth that must be believed with divine and catholic faith. Schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or communion with the members of the Church . These sins strain or break the bonds of unity with the offender and the Catholic Church.

The Bible says that we should question things that don't make sense to us. I think it's perfectly fine that you want to make certain that you are in the denomination that you feel the Lord wants you to be in.

2 Corinthians 11:1-4
Paul and the False Apostles
I hope you will put up with a little of my foolishness; but you are already doing that. I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

1 John 4:1-3
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Once you are baptized in Christ, you are baptized in Christ. The line from the Creed, "We acknowlegde one Baptism for the fofgiveness of Sins" assures us that we are recognized as Baptized, in any Christian religion.
What is most important is making sure that you are completely in communion with Rome and the Church. Many Catholics are brought to Protestantism because they didn't understand the richness fot he Catholic Church.
Your most important task now is to learn and defend the Catholic Church, and all of Her teaching. Let me know if you have any questions. Feel free to e-mail me(if that's possible using this system, I don't feel like giving it out there)

This is hysterical. I thought I knew the only people who did this. She had to _convert_ to Catholic to marry this guy, then they had all these children for the Church--I think at last count there were seven or eight--and then when this dork couldn't make it in the Navy, couldn't make it in the National Guard, couldn't make it in the civilian world, he finally, suddenly, "got the call from God" to convert the whole family to fundamentalist born-again. I can only imagine how confused all those kids were about this. And the reason God called him to become a protestant holy-roller is that he is "called" to the ministry. This is the only job where he can use his god-given talents for BS and controlling other people and actually succeed! And they give him money and a house! ROFLMFAO!!

In this situation, it's fine because for the Catholic who is returning to the Church, the baptism he/she received in the "born again" church is of no consequence.

The baptism they received in the Catholic Church as an infant is the one that really matters.

Given that the person was outside the Catholic Church for two years and received baptism in another church, it's important for him/her to be reconciled with the Church through the sacrament of reconciliation (confession), prior to resuming the reception of Communion.

I would suggest that you stop going back and forth from one doctrine to another and start believing the Bible. Salvation is a free gift. Trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Don't let the doctrine of any church deceive you. Ephesians 4: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
